My staffie suffers from skin allergies and is going back to the vet tomorrow to discuss what to do next as the antibiotics he was given last time didn't really have any effect.
The vet suggested that he carry out skin ivestigations to find out exactly what it is he's allergic to. Does anyone know how much this is likely to cost?

I have a 1 year old male pitbull that I have spoiled since 4 weeks old. He is so use to going every where with me that when I leave him alone for a minute he cry's and screams like someone is torturing him! I feel odd. My neighbors thought I was hurting my dog and even called the cops on me. When the cops came to my house I showed them my dog. They said the neighbors thought I might be torturing my dog. They said, "there is nothing at all wrong with this dog. Why would the neighbors call us for your dog? He is healthy. Then I told to the cops that every time I leave my dog alone for a minute he howls and cry's with a very high pitch cry! I walked outside with the officer's to show them and walked to my drive-way with the cops and they started laughing when my dog started crying and howling real loudly. I felt soooo embarrased and turned red in the face! They said,"That dog must really love you to cry like that!" How can I stop him from crying? He never chews anything up. Can U help?

First, Im a beloved animal lover and cant stand to see animals hurt or anything that is why I have so many pets Im always picking up strays because I feel bad for them .
I live on a very busy busy road and wont be able to put a fence up in my yard till next summer. We just got a 9month old puppy and she is a total runner. If she gets out the door she wont listen to you to come back and she almost has gotten hit three times by a car by getting out the door we almost thought yesterday she was going to die. I dont really believe in shock collars but for my dog's safety is it wrong to get one ? We always try to becareful when we open the door but it takes one time and then that one time she wont be coming back inside. All I want to use it for is if she gets out we can get her before she runs in the road like last night. What brand is a good one and how much do they cost ?
I feel terriable about this because I hate to see it on animals but I just dont know what else to do Thank you

My lab likes to chew on his legs. When I took him to the vet she didn't seem to worried and gave me meds that aren't working. She just told me he was bored. He has a 50 foot runner and we let him off that 3 times a day to play ball and he still does it. Does anyone know of anything else to use?

My Boston Terrier had five puppies. Two look as though they are full blooded, the other three don't. She mated only with another full blooded Boston Terrier. Why would one have long hair, and the other two have long snouts. The only way they even resemble Boston Terriers is that their colors and markings are the same.

ok heres the summary my staffy was in heat, she stop bleeding and i thought it was safe to let her out but when i went outside she and my friends dog (i was dogsitting) were stuck. then she got out about 4 days later (all swelling etc had gone down alot.) and had a rough weekend where she was found on the other side of city i was told she was picked up by someone who then just dumped her. now shes bleeding agian and acting all sad now. had vet look her over and said she has an infection in her vulva, shes being treated with antibotics. but what i was wondering if theres a chance she still could be pregnant as her vulva hasnt gone down competley. i know i should have asked vet but at the time i was to concerned for my dogs health that i didnt think to ask. sorry if this is confusing. plz no stupid smart **** answers

A majority of the time my dog has a little of what we eat, within reason, to go with her complete dried food, but occasionally I feed her with a ready made wet food. I have recently bought a brand which says it contains at least 60% meat, which made me think of what the others contain.

I have looked at other brands (including the premium lines of the best sellers) and I am shocked to see they contain only an avarage of 4% meat!

So I ask - what is the healthiest wet dog food out there?

My puppy has had diarrhea four times in two days (on the carpet). We've gotten the stains up, but the odor is still there. We are trying to sell our house and don't want potential buyers to turn and run when they are hit with the 'poop smell'. We've tried Febreze and candles.

But the person whoem he bit was an intruder either in my house or on my property, would i be in trouble?, same as if he attacked a dog that was running through my front garden, My dog is a loving loyal dog, i have 4 children, youngest 6 months old and although i would never leave him alone in the room with my baby i have no thoughts that would make me think he was a danger to my family, He is a lovely dog to others out side of my property but he is a ferocious guard dog as soon as we are on my property, would i be responsible for any injury caused by him to trespassers according to uk law?

I took my Jack Russell for a walk this weekend. We were walking in a field and out of the blue, another dog (a lurcher I think), came running at him at attacked him. It was really awful, at one point my dog was pinned to the ground then he managed to free himself, but the dog had another go and sunk his teeth into his belly. We eventually pulled them apart, but it seemed to take forvever - we just couldn't grab hold of them. I've now had a £245 vet bill

I have been pondering over this question all weekend so must find an answer..... When walking the dog, who gets more worn out? The dog has four legs so can they walk twice as further as us without getting tired, or do they have to work harder because they have four legs which would make them tired faster?

On Friday I took my female dog to the vet to get fixed. She was a Chow 2 years old, up to date with her shots healthy. 7 months ago she had 6 puppies all of which survived. In the morning that she left she was playing with two of her puppies in the yard and seemed happy. She was a live in dog that was great with kids and babies.
I dropped her off at 8h30am and at 10h30 I got a call from the vet telling me that she had died on the operating table. The vet did a blood smear and said it came out clear. She has no idea why the dog died...
As most of you know live in dogs are members of the family and I find it hard to accept no answer as an answer. Are there any questions I should have asked my vet to find out what happened? What do you think happened? She said the bill will include some adrenaline shots that she used to try revive my dog. She said that this is the first time she has had a healthy dog die on her with a simple procedure like this.

My Daschund can do many tricks. My favorite is when I point my fingers at him and say BANG and he falls over. He continues wagging his tail and looking for the treat. Not the greatest actor but it is still pretty cool.
