I make dog treats for my friends dogs for Christmas every year. The treats are made from baby food turkey, chicken or beef.
I don't have the recipe right here, but I got it from googling dog treat recipes. There are dozens on the web.'

I have made these treats for my dogs for years! They have always begged for more!

Lucky Lady's Favorite Cookies
(Dog Cookies)

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup non-fat dry milk
1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup yellow corn meal
1/3 cup margarine (room temp.)
1 egg, slightly beaten
* 1 Tablespoon instant beef or chicken boullion dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling water
or
* 2 or 3 beef or chicken boullion cubes dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling water

1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium sized bowl.

2. Cut in margarine until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

3. Stir in egg.

4. Slowly pour bouillon broth over mixture, stirring with a fork to moisten.

5. Turn mixture out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, adding flour as needed.

6. Divide dough in half. Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut into 12 pieces. Repeat with other half of the dough.

7. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Bake for 20 minutes, turn over and bake 5 minutes more, or until firm and dry to the touch.


Makes 2 dozen dog cookies.

* If coloring is desired; add food coloring with the broth, untill desired shade is reached.
