I recently found out my dog likes cooked green peppers and rice cakes....(not together!). What foods does your dog like that you didn't imagine he would?

Hi,
I recently (6 weeks ago) adopted a rescued australian shepherd mix (father possibly some type of terrier.). He is now 9 months old and is a wonderful dog. He is submissive at home and shows no signs of dominance. He is great with my five year old twins. He has never shown his teeth for any reason.
When we go outside for walks or to the park to walk he will bark when he sees peolple and he will bark and get very excited to see other dogs. He does not want to attack anyone but the barking is loud and I am having trouble stoping it. I have been trying a squrit of water in the face with mixed resulta and also being stern, etc. He will not show teeth or growl angerly but he seems to really want to meet the other dogs..if we do get up to another dog the barking stops and he exhibits very appropriate socializing such as smelling parts, etc. and all barking stops.
I truly believe he would not harm anyone. We have started basic obedience.Appreciate any advice to correct barking

I have a min pin who is about a year old. She seems to be pretty smart when it comes to getting her way, but when I want something (like for her to stop having poo inside) she turns into the stupidest dog ever. She is very fiesty and continually picks fights with the two other dogs I own, even though they are much larger than she is. She won't let them eat or drink and she is generally very mean to them. She is quite playful and never seems to "settle down". I know that these dogs are high strung, but is she normal?

I wish I could adopt from a shelter but its just to much money to do so. I am looking for a small cute puppie or younge adult dog (small) for my daughter. We have lots of love to give and will provide the best care in the world. My wish as a mommy is to own a itillian (sp) greyhound. We did adopt a greyhound but BTK killed him before we moved from Kansas, can anyone help?

This is the main page, and I'm thinking of adding more pages. Just wondered what people would be interested in seeing from a dog trainer on their webpage.

Please skip all the pro-pit bull commentary. I understand that many pits are perfectly harmless. I want to know what to do if I run across one that is aggressive. Thanks!

She's fed, pottied, and exercised and still whines like crazy. It just started recently too and nothing has changed as far as a new house, routine, etc. The vet gives her a clean bill of health, so that isn't the problem.

It's not a constant thing, but it's enough to annoy the crap out of me. It's almost seems like everytime she isn't getting her way, this is her way to get back at me. For example, she was just whining because our other dog is laying on the bed that she wants even though there is another one right next to it.

Any suggestions on how to make it stop? Getting rid of her is not an option either. My pets are mine for life.

Why in the world would you want some beast you have to walk, that is going to annoy the entire neighborhood with its incessant barking. Stinks up your house, hair all over the place, zero peace and quiet - and guaranteed to annoy your neighbors. Personally I'd rather have a pet elephant. Dog owners are remarkably self-absorbed individuals who think of no one but themselves. Cats or birds are far superior pets.

dog's a cocker spaniel, she is four years old, and I've been told by her vet and groomer that she has some severe plaque/tartar. I just got her a month ago, the old family abused her and obviously didn't care for her teeth.

They are house dogs but they go outside too so they tend to smell after a while.
