I tried to train my dog, a border terrier not to bark in the window when ever he saw a dog with a squirt dog. but he finally got tired of getting weat and started attacking the squirt gun what should I do?

Nice going. You conditioned him to attack the aversive. Consult a professional trainer who can guide you through proper ways to train your dog. Or buy yourself a book. What you need to do is train an alternate desirable behavior, such as he barks once then comes to you-for a treat, which you will give him as a reward for stopping his barking and coming to you. You should also control the environment by blocking his access to the window as much as possible.

Well, you found a way to address the negative, but neglected the positive. I used the squirt bottle too, but then after a while of quiet, I rewarded him with a small treat and said "good quiet". Now my dog rarely barks.
When you squirt him, you should also be using a command to quiet him. After a while, just the command should get him to stop.

I bet you looked like a real dog trainer with the squirt gun, watering the dog and yelling,"no". lmao. Probably as sucessful as the moron that hits the Lab.

You just need to scream at him, "BAD", and walk away not making any eye contact with him. Terriers are loving dogs and know if you are not happy, they are not happy. Dogs are hear to play with and want you to be joyful. You need to scream @ it and let it know he did the wrong and that you are disappointed. May seem like it's not working, but after 3 days with my dog (and a little hitting) she got better (Black Lab). Now she stays clam and is the best thing in my life! Hope I helped some way.
