adams works pretty good............but frontline is defentaly the BEST............. try boiling a lemon (peel and all) in 3cups of water and (after letting it cool) rub onto the dog (put lots at the base of tail and around the ears and just behind the ribs).

I have a dog with flea allergies and I wouldn't ever consider using anything less than Frontline Plus. Bio-spot, Zodiac, Hartz, or anything else you can buy cheaply at the pet store just don't really work. Not to mention, there have been a considerable number of dogs that have gotten sick or even died from them (Hartz was recalled because of this). If it's important to keep all fleas off your dog, I wouldn't even mess around with that stuff. They might work for the first week, but after that, (or if they get wet) they won't kill all the fleas. Frontline Plus is pretty much always about $35 for 3 months; if it's much more than that, you're getting ripped off, if it much less, it's probably fake (Yes, there are websites that sell FAKE dog medication).

It's hard to find a "cheap" good flea preventative. Frontline Plus is the best. K-9 Advantix is also really good; it depends on where you live and if ticks are an issue.
The cheapest places to buy these products are "ebay" and "petmeds.com". You should be able to easily compare prices at online pharmacies.
Whatever you do, Please do not apply "Hartz" products to your pets. I have seen emergency after emergency with pets poisoned by those products.
The reason Frontline Plus is so expensive is because it's patented and it works. You will not find a similar safe product on the market.
Good Luck:)

be careful about the cheap stuff my sister used hartz and her dog had an allergic reaction, hartz had to pay her $500 emergency vet bill. Frontline is the best but sorry its not cheap. However its worth it and it works

Try either Zodiac drops or Bio-Spot drops

we had a horrid year here in Maine and a lot of folks had problems with Frontline.

You can get them at most pet shops

Buy Skin so soft by Avon, one of the best lotions for dog and cats who have flees. Ask your Representative they will know. it has many uses. I know this one first hand.
