Sure. any name you like is a good name. Just remember that you will be using this name for a long time. You can call him Theodore when you are mad at him....like a mom using the long full birthcertificate name when kids misbehave.

I look at the way a pup behaves and think about a name from there. I have a Olde English/Rottie mix that couldn't be named anything but "Yogi Bear", he always wanted the whole picnic basket, and still does. My spouse say's he would rob the 7-11 store for food if he needed to. LOL Good luck with the name, I'm sure anything you choose will be just great.

Well, German Shepards are usually not very cuddly. I am not saying that they aren't good pets, but some are vicious (that's a good thing in some cases). Naming a vicious (not that I'm saying that yours is vicious) dog "Teddy" doesn't really fit.

If he is a long haired GS
i would want, to call him *TEDDY!*
it is a good name for a German shepard dog

My GS was called Laddie ( 26 years ago)
He was almost white with a dark muzzle

He was my great companion ,
the best dog and I still miss him .so much .

Some of them, as puppies, look like teddy bears. That would be a good name. Bear would work also.

Yes, if you like that name, go right ahead and call him that. My neighbor's dog is a german sheperd called snoopy. :)

No. Teddy is a "cutsie" name and German shephards are not "cutsie". Try "Butch" or "Beast".
