My dogs sleep all night and a lot of the day....I guess it depends on the dog, where they are sleeping and if you sleep alnight.

Tired dogs sleep better and longer! We take our dogs to the park and walk up and down hills for about 1 hour a day and we also take them to the farm 2 days a week where they really get to run around. Before we did that they would wake up around 5 AM and bark.

They sleep of and on all day as well as all night. This way they reserve strength for the hunt. I realize most dogs no longer hunt but it is in their genetic makeup.
