I don't understand why people insist on not getting their dog spayed or neutered. In my opinion, if people did what they were supposed to do, kennels and shelter population would be sliced by more than half.

My question is why do people wait 'til the last minute, or it's too late and their dog gets pregnant? Then there are 1-10 new unwanted pups in the world

Be responsible with your pets and help control the population!

I know what you are thinking, but my dog is alergic to fleas, flea powders, and the topical drops...she is itching so bad right now she is crying, so I used borax on the floors (she is not alergic to it) and want to know if i can use it on her too? I have heard of people using dawn dish soap or vinegar, what do you think? I need an immediate solution, not something that will take a day or 2!

My BF has a 14 year old dog. He has spent almost 3K to find out that he has an adenocarcinoma of the stomach, in the pylorus. His vet doesn't feel comfortable operating, and has referred him to yet another vet (surgical specialist). He was almost at a point to let go and euthanize, and they hold out a little ray of hope to him. His dog is SUFFERING, bleeding out slowly, weak, and whimpering. I bet if my BF said he didn't have the money, they'd be making other suggestions! It is so hard for me (I am a surgical nurse, and I know this is a big surgery, and I think the tumor is partially blocking the duodenal opening.) to sit by and say nothing, but I have not offered my opinion at all. He has not asked me for one....but this is crazy! Poor dog, I think. But it is his dog, not mine! What do you think?

He is going to call this specialist this morning......and frankly, I hope they say that with that diagnosis, and at his dog's age, it is not a good idea. My poor BF.....

I used to have a miniature schnauzer but I had to give him away because he was too hyper-active and was impossible to train. It's been almost six months and even though I had a bad experience with my past dog; I really want to give my puppy parenting skills another shot. I love dogs, and I have a new job, thus I'll be able to spend a lot more time with this new dog; and I've always wanted a tea-cup sized dog and have never been able to get one. I think a smaller dog and more time off will be the best combination, but I'm not sure my boyfriend, whom I currently live with, will go for it. He thinks that he's heard this all before and that this time won't be any different. I feel terrible that I had to give my other dog away, but he's happier now. He lives with a lovely family with two young kids and a nice huge yard. He needs that. I know I can be a good parent, but I'm affraid my boyfriend might be right, what if it doesn't work?? What should I do?

He has been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. It has been recommended that I put him on a low protein diet to help control the disease. He is currently taking antibiotics and the vet also recommends regular blood and urine testing to be sure it doesn't get worse.

I have a 4 1/2 year old Jack Russell. I'm really not happy with the food I am feeding him now. I also will not feed him Iams because they test on animals. He tends to gain weight easily even though he gets tons of exercise. Serious answers only please!

Hello Again! I also have a three month old fawn boxer that I am trying to train. He just shididdles anywhere in the house that he wants! I smoke, I am outside about once an hour in which time, they go with me. A lot of the time, he is too busy playing when we go outside to potty so he will play and then come in the house and do his business. I am getting completely frustrated between the two dogs. I am constantly cleaning my carpets and cleaning up messes. Please help! Thank you!
