Hello All! I have an 8 month old white boxer that I have had since she was 8 wks old. The problem is, if I am sitting in the living room, she will sit and stare at me to let her outside. If I am up cleaning the house, she just pees. I smoke so I am constantly letting her outside. The other day she stood on the couch to look out the window and just peed..ON THE COUCH! any suggestions?I sure would appreciate some help here. I love her to death but shes just peeing too much!

She may have a bladder problem. I would consult your vet who may suggest this. If you crate trained and she was once potty trained then this could be the issue, especially since your are letting her out so much and she is urinating every time.

It may be beneficial to put her on a feeding/watering schedule. give her food and water only at specific times during the day. This helps to get the dog's bowels and bladder on a regular elimination schedule.

Also, keep in mind that dogs usually have to go potty about 15 minutes after they eat, right when they get up in the morning, and when they wake up from a nap. Use these opportune times to get your pup outside for potty. Whenever she goes potty outside praise her effusively, so she equates outside toileting with lots of praise and attention.

You'll also need to thoroughly clean the areas where she has urinated inside the house with something like Nature's Miracle to totally elimate any smell. (She can smell what you cannot.) If any smell lingers, she'll think that the areas are OK places to potty.

since she is always outside and pees outside, do you praise her? she might have it in her head she can pee anywhere. when you are inside, make sure to take her outside and say go potty or whatever, no matter how often she is outside so she knows she can only pee outside and always praise her. but from her just to pee on the couch is strange, so taking her to the vet is a good idea and they will have good ideas of what to do too!

Get like a litter box or something. Pee in a little cup, then put the cup where you want the dog to pee.
