my 8 week old puppy I got from a friend of a friend came down sick and is throwing up and has the run's she hasn't ate n 2 days going on 3 days...how can I treat her at home? befor I have to take her to the vet.?

FIRST take her to the vet. There are many reasons why a puppy would throw up and refuse food. The most common is that she may have a worm infestation and need worming drops but again for knowing what worming drops are good you need Veterinarian's advise. Or she might have eaten something out of curiosity as puppies usually do. Get her Vet help, she is too small for any delays in getting treatment.

Your friend is a jerk - never separate a puppy from its mother before 10 weeks. You need to get your puppy to the vet RIGHT NOW.
I feel sorry for your dog if you're going to treat her on the cheap by wasting time on Answers instead of taking care of her. Why don't you ask your vet to help her find a good home?
Do NOT give that dog Gatorade!!!!

I agree, don't even think about treating at home it could be an illness or he could have eaten something that is causing the sickness.
If the bills are a problem, if you are on benefits the Blue Cross should help, or a sympathetic vet may let you pay it off.
If you have children or other pets I seriously stress the importance of ruling out any diseases.

you cant really treat her at home shes going to need to be hydrated for sure... at 8 weeks old specially sounds like she might have a little bug some puppies get... i am a home breeder and i know she cant go much longer that way so i recommend you get some vet treatment soon or your puppy will become to ill to even treat ... give her some honey and or something for a fever if shes running a temp... childrens med liquid... i really stress that you get her looked at tho.... good luck

Give it a homemade enema. Then take it to the vet. He might be suffering from 'bushitis', a rare illness that comes from realizing he is a pet enslaved in a human house. Usually without proper medical tretment the animal dies soon. If properly treated, it can even make it to the White House.

If it is a small dog then you also need to worry about it going hypoglycemic. (low blood sugar) That will kill the dog. A small puppy that has not eaten in 2 days can die. It is dehydrated from the diahrea and vomiting so it needs to go to the vet immmediately,

first call the vet, then try giving her things like cheerios dogs luv that,then make sure she eats the cheerios or any other table scraps that are good for her and its normal for a dog to throw up if they are not throwing up like every hour its normal to throw up every few weeks my dog always does that I'm not sure about the runs but i really hope this helps and she miht have pravo it could get bad so take her to the vet now!!!!!!

you may want to go buy something called 'parvaid' it is for parvo. is your dog's runs bloody? if so don't waist any more time go now and buy the parvaid at least it may help out in the time it takes to get a vet appointment. the vet told me when my dog was like that to make sure they stay hydrated. you will have open its mouth and give them water or peadalite (the stuff you give kids for diariah) it wont hurt them. my vet told me this. i hope that your puppy gets better.

You need to take it to the vet as soon as possible. It's very possible that it could be parvo, and if you catch it quick then you can save your puppy.
