They are constantly licking my husband & I. Are they lacking something in their diet? Why do they do this?

I do not think that you have to be concerned about that. I also have two Daschunds and the do not lick me, but the floor. I took them to the vet and she said that they tend to do that. It is in their nature so I just leave them and do not bother about it. Just enjoy them and love them. They are just like humans, we also have our strange habits

People if you have a dachshund learn how to spell D-A-C-H-S-H-U-N-D! And yes they are notorious for licking! Mine lick all of the time, I have taught them they are not allowed to lick me though and when they want to lick themselves they have to go and lay on their bed to do it. This keeps everyone happy, they get to lick and I don't have to listen to that licking sound!

They are kissing you. they are grateful and loving! Nothing else. If they wanted something as food, they would eat you, not lick you.

Dacshunds actually are known for this behaviour...it may have something to do with inbreeding if they are purebreds.
