He has been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. It has been recommended that I put him on a low protein diet to help control the disease. He is currently taking antibiotics and the vet also recommends regular blood and urine testing to be sure it doesn't get worse.

Eukanuba makes a Early Stage Kidney Diet that would be perfect for your dog. Your vet can write you a prescription and you can get it at places like PetSmart.

Whatever you do DO NOT give him/her science diet. it contains pieces of carcases. I suggest a natural diet like a soy based dog food. I think purina makes one, but you should check it out next time your at the store.
