Fleas are REALLY bad this year and I'm finding even the "guaranteed" flea preventions aren't helping 100%. I'm just curious to hear what everyone else uses--topical, oral, spray, shampoo? I've been told table salt, garlic and brewer's yeast are excellent flea-fighters. Anyone use those? Anything else? Thank you!

my mom just found out she might be alergic to dogs. We have a dog who is my best friend. Now she is starting to puff up. The dog is not very friendly to men or others. So should we give away my almost 2 year old dog or put him to sleep.

Mum, as normal has been letting "Finlay" the Border Collie who didnt like the bath, out as late as possible (she usually goes to bed about 9pm). When I called this morning and told her I was printing off the reply's regarding Finlay (which were very very useful), thanks to all, she told me for the past two nights he has been pooping on the carpet. I told her this must be down to him being a bit upset.....(shes not impressed). Anyone got any ideas?

Well, im going on vacation in 2 days, and i just heard news that my dog will be going through euthanization within a few days of me getting back... talk about a horrible way to ruin a vacation.

anyway, the main thing thats bugging me (besides obviously the eminent loss) is: is it right?

does it fall under "though shall not kill"? or "thou shalt have mercy"?

Thanks

I am trying to find a mate for our male cocker. His mate and his daughter we're killed a while back and lately it seems like he is suffering with depression. Would like a older female (vs a puppy). Am willing to travel within abt a 300 mile radius.

Okay, so like in December I might get a pomeranian if my grades are good first semester. And I was wondering to people who have pomeranians-- Do they shed a lot? And any other things about them would be helpful to know beforehand..

My father died and I had to place my mother in a home because I cannot physically care for her due to my health. I was left with all these animals and I must move. I cannot afford all of them. Only one belongs to me, but I've been caring for them and love them all! I find getting homes for them has been hard and emotionally painful, but I don't believe you should keep an animal if you cannot afford to take them to a vet when they're sick.

The oldest dog is in pain with her hip. My aunt told me to have her put to sleep. I haven't been able to find a home for her and where I may move will be cold. I haven't the heart to put her to sleep but I'm in a position where I cannot keep her because I haven't even figured out where I’m going to stay.

If you don't like animals, Please do not answer this.

My boyfriend and I have a Pekapoo that is a little over a year old. We decided when he was a puppy not to get him fixed because we didn't think it was necessary since he would not be in contact with other dogs who could reproduce. We have been having a problem with taking him to other houses because he will pee on furniture. This is our first dog and we have no idea what to do. My boyfriend's parents told us to get him fixed, but will that solve the problem? I don't want to spend money on an operation if it's not going to fix anything.
