My own belief is that when dogs do this, it is insecurity. They may be trying to mask their scent with yours, so any predator would know that it isn't just a helpless dog in the house, but a big strong human. I think your pup had a nightmare, and it made him have to go, so he did it where he felt secure, by his protector.

It is not a dominace issue, or even marking, as most dogs will do it at one time or another..whether they are dominant or submissive....doesn't even seem to be related to gender.

My dog peed on me during a dog show....it shocked the heck outta me......I learned that this is stress related, and he was feeling awfully nervous, so peed on his protector.

Then I saw it happed at the Westminster show, to the most famous handler...the big ol dog he was showing, peed right on his leg....He must have been awfully nervous.

Dogs and all animals live in a world full of smells that are like blossoms in the air coming from the source. The animal may be smelling his own urine or anther pet's urine. They are strongly inclined to "scent" over another smell or urinate on it.

The idea would be to change the smell. Clean the sheets and blankets and then clean the mattress in that area. Flip the mattress over and smell the other side and see if there is other Oder's. Spray an artificial scent in the place where the dog did his business. That should take care of that location.

However, you have to inspect your house for odors. Is there another pet in the house like a cat? If so cats also scent their territory. Finally, ask a vet.

Same reasons people do, Too much water too drink, had a dream about using the bathroom in the right place but actually peed in the wrong place.

It may have had too much water to drink, and then couldn't get anyone up to let him out, so he went back to sleep, dreamed about water and pee-ed the bed. Dogs have dreams to so it may have had a dream that is was peeing outside and peed in the bed. I know some nights my dog has had nightmares because, I hear her whimpering and her legs are moving like she is running away.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aULkq

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

The Dog is upset at you for something.. The bed smells more like you then anywhere else in the house. So this is most likely where he will attack you that or your shoes!! You need to figure out what you did wrong. I had a dog that defecated on my bed I had changed dog foods and this was his way of telling me, when I changed back he stopped. Also I know of one that did this because his master replaced him with a lady friend and that really upset him. You just have to figure it out

He is marking the bed as his own.. First thing to do is stop allowing him to sleep with you. Even if that means putting in the bathroom or a crate at night.

I had the same problem with my cocker, she only did it when huby was in the bed.. She quit doing it after i quit letting her on the bed.. That means not allowed on the bed at any time..

Urinary tract infection, possibly. Hopefully cleared up quickly with some antibiotics from the vet. Word of advice--get to the vet asap before Fido makes it a habit. Poor doggie!

Any sudden change in your pet's behavior can mean that they are trying to tell you that they are sick. In this case, probably a bladder infection, but it might be something else. It's best to go to a vet, better be safe than sorry. Especially when he is peeing in your bed.

Wet dream? Maybe he was marking your bed? Typically, cats love to pee the bed. If it keeps on happening, it'd be concerned about it, obviously. But it could be a freak occurrence.
