Don't let it play with your hand. If you have a toy, drop the toy or throw the toy but don't hold it in your hand and play with your dog. They ain't too bright, it'll think your hand is a toy, too.

It is not a sign of affection, you really can't train a dog not to bite you teach them not to. When my dog started to bite me, I went and got her some chew toys, and she liked them, and any other time she would still try to bite me I poped her on the nose and she learned not to do it after a while, because every time she would bite I would hit her harder on her nose. But she stopped about a week or two later.

When she bites, yell "YOW!" really loud and high pitched. It sounds silly, but it recreates the sounds another dog would make when it has had enough "play-biting". It also startles them.

Then immediately walk away and ignore the dog. Next time you play, repeat the same routine if she bites. This may take some time, but eventually she will realize that biting puts an end to the playtime.

My dog stopped after I gave him bones to chew on. Has he always done this? Is your dog a puppy. A puppy bites they need to be taught not to. Some dogs bite when they are playing or are trying to play. Play with him then see if it stops. Good luck.

it is a way to play. if you ever have seen pups from a litter or two pups playing they do the same thing. The way to treat it. is to buy rawhides. or chew bones. you can buy them at any pet store.

Mine would nip at me when she was a puppy (Rottie) - I kept giving her smacks (light ones) on the nose and saying no. She eventually learned what it meant.
