i have a rottevieler dog, he is huge black and handsome. my problem is that he seems to be greying and is losing the shine on his coat. how do i restore his colour and glow. i do add cooking oil to his meals.

As for the gray...he's aging, deal with it. As for the low shine, change his food to a high quality food. Or ask yer vet for a fatty acid supplement to increase the oils in his skin...cooking oil is probably not the oil or nutrient he is lacking...try a real supplement made for dog coats...

Why add cooking oil? Are you feeding poor quality food and having to add things? Does the food have corn, wheat and by products? If so it is poor quality. Don't be fooled by advertising. Learn what the stuff on ingredients lists mean and what they do. If you feed a premium quality food your dog will have better overall health, skin and coat........without having to add stuff. Some of the best brands out there are California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick. Any of those will put the shine back in his coat. As for the gray, how old is he?

we go gray when we get older so don't you think animals do too? do not try to dye his fur let him age gracefuylly
