From what I unserstand you have a Corgi and are thinking about getting a Mastiff? If that is the case then yes, they can live together. I would get a MAstiff pup so they can grow together and not have this big beast towering over your Corgi right away. Both are wonderful breeds with advantages and disadvantages

The care of a large dog cost money, will your budget allow it? Would be willing to cut back on what you spend on youself? Will you have the time to devout to a dog that size if you decide on a Mastiff? These are some of the questions you should be asking yourself. One more thing, ask yourself what you will be doing for the next 15 years. Will a big dog or any dog fit into your plans? Good Luck.

Corgis are great dogs and so are mastiffs. Each has good and bad points.
Corgis are great with kids but have a lot of back problems so ive been told.
Mastiffs are fearless and it depends on the individual dog how they are with children.
Also depends if you have alergies, lots of room or little room and the like.

I would get a mastiff---but im the big dog type and hate small dogs--mastiffs are sweet, lovable, and loyal. But you have to consider that they are more expensive. They require more food and bigger doses of medication. And they do drool (quite a bit) and take up a large amounnt of space, and they need more exercise. If all that is cool w/u get the mastiff!

The corgi would be better. You must remember that if you get a mastiff everything will be twice as expensive due to his weight. Oh, and they crap like a horse!!!

Is this for you to buy one?? You would know better which type of dog suits you. Do you have experience with enormous, strong, dominating dogs? If not there is no sense in getting a mastiff, it will probably overpower you and end up at a dog shelter. Stick with a dog that you are comfortable with and capable of training.

For what? What is your purpose in comparing? Keeping as a pet?
Cause there are a number of ways to compare. If you looking for a watch dog? A play dog? If you have other pets which one will not be overly jealous that will endanger your other pets? Are you looking for one that is also great with small children? Are you living in temperate place or cold place? - their cold tolerance or fur will be great comparison. Allergy of the people around you should also be considered. The one with less fur will then be most favorable.
