Yes you can do the baths at home...they are robbing you! I have never given any dog that bath...the owners always have and I have been working in an animal hospital about 10 years now...

Note: make sure of the mite you are treating...some mites can be transferred to you!!! You may have to protect your self well while giving these bats...but you CAN still do them yer self.

Oh yeah, and if you dont want to do baths, there is another option. But you have to be comfortable with needles...and its expensive.

And no petco or any other petstore has the medication u need...If you look on line you will still need a perscription...plus shipping and handling...

Dip, Bath...similar, right? He said bath I followed up with bath. And Ivermectin is used "off label" for mange...yes with a needle.

You didn't say what type of mange it is. If it is sarcoptic mange, it is contagious to you and other dogs, but it is easy to get rid of. If it is demodex mange it is not contagious, but it takes a long time to treat. I have been a vet tech for 13 years, and have never seen a vet prescribe dips for an owner to do at home. The chemicals are dangerous to you, and could be dangerous to your dog if not mixed correctly, and should be done in the clinic. I have also never heard of a bath to get rid of mange, only dips. I have never seen a vet prescribe shots for an owner to do at home, except for treating diabetes. You should find out exactly what type of mange it is, and exactly what they are doing for it, a bath, or a dip. If you are not happy with your vet, then find another. They are everywhere.
