Mum, as normal has been letting "Finlay" the Border Collie who didnt like the bath, out as late as possible (she usually goes to bed about 9pm). When I called this morning and told her I was printing off the reply's regarding Finlay (which were very very useful), thanks to all, she told me for the past two nights he has been pooping on the carpet. I told her this must be down to him being a bit upset.....(shes not impressed). Anyone got any ideas?

Finlay sounds a bit neurotic, not unusual for a border collie. Dogs generally need to go about 16 hours after their main meal, and about 10 minutes after starting exercise. Get your Mum to take him for a 30 minute walk at 9pm instead of just bunging him outside. If the problem continues you'll have to crate train him.

Why is Finlay upset?? Perhaps he's a bit confused about being let out later than usual? Hmmmmmm, try getting him back to normal to cease the mess on the floor. Maybe he isn't too keen on your mum??
