basically its me walking my dog, just started, and she is a beagle, anxious to smell everything and i know thats in her nature but she does that every second so we get nowhere in our walks.

currently using a retractable leash with a cheap collar that i jsut use for walks. just a cheap one

and after u take off the leash and collar theres a little mark or circle thats on her neck becus she is like choking herself with the collar.
but then i was like omg!

obedience school really isnt an option right now becus this isnt a real big problem and i should be able to fix it on my own, or else it will just be a waste of money

and also, i doubt it that my parents will let me get another leash- or a "halter" or "choke/pinch collar" so bascically if u guys could gimme some advice in how to let my doggy know not to drag me along and choke herself.

I have a 17 month old Black Lab (female)) and she is very inquisitive and tends to be over friendly and mischievous alot, with other dogs and people. Could one of you tell me at what age she will calm these tendencies?.

Gave away a medium sized purebred golden retriever through second chance pets or something like that from petsmarts program. They were not allowed to tell us who got him or anything like that. It is in the ohio area and his name was Biscuit. If anyone here is the one who got him i would like to know how he is doing?

I've tried the plastic fencing sold at Home Depot to keep him out. I stapled the fencing to woooden stakes and put them into the ground, and he still rips the fence up and eats my hostas. Any good suggestions?

Our Great Dane just chewed up her 4th dog bed and it was supposed to be a "toughchew" bed we bought from Orvis. It only took three days for her to chew through this one. Thankfully we are receiving a refund since it was guaranteed.

We do have to crate her during the day into our office and she is left with food, water, a rope, a rawhide, and a stuffy and still for some reason she finds joy in chewing up her bed. Thankfully, she only chews on her bed (also her stuffy but that's only $5) and not anything else but I don't want to keep buying her a new bed every other week! I don't want her to sleep on the cold hardwood floors either, somebody help!

My six year old male dog has just started coughing (which sounds like honking), and acting like he's throwing up. He has not had contact with any other dogs, besides my other dog, and she hasn't had any contact either. I do volunteer at an animal shelter, so is it posible to get something from the contact with my clothes?
help!

i've got a 17week old yorkshire terrier. i think she got wormed when she was 8 weeks old and then at 3months. I'm really worried about her because i know she should have been wormed every month. she seems fine so my parents don't think she has to be wormed. How bad can worms be for puppies?
