After breeding dogs for the past 38 years, I too am amazed at the effectiveness of REVOLUTION.
You have to get it from your vet. some vets require heartworm testing first, but many don't, so call around.

I would most certainly use REVOLUTION. It prevents heartworm, fleas, and many other parasites. It is safe for pups and adults,
, and applies as drops to the back of the neck. Instead of putting poisons in to your dog you are protecting his skin from exposure.

I have three dogs and my vet has always reccommended Frontline. I use it and have had no problems with fleas or ticks. I hike a lot in the woods and have found ticks on myself but never on the dogs. Frontline works wonders and is very easy to apply! I volunteer at the animal shelter here in town and occassionally foster out a dog and often they have fleas. My dogs have never gotten fleas from the fostered animal either so I truly believe Frontline is great.

I use the Frontline spray (it comes in a 17 oz. spray bottle).
I have Irish Wolfhounds and have found that the drops don't provide enough coverage.
It is best if you haven't bathed the dog in a couple of weeks before applying. The oils on the hair and skin help act as a carrier. After a couple of days, you can bathe them or let them swim without fear of it washing off.

Be careful where you buy it (I buy mine only from my vet) there is counterfit stuff out there on the web.
