puppy food

Puppy food from a holistic pet store, 4 times a day until he/she gets a little older.

Chihuahua puppies have a high risk of hypoglycema when very young, so make sure to give small amounts of food but at a greater frequency. Directions on the food you buy should tell you how much to feed given your dog's age and weight. Divide this by four, and that's how much you feed each time.

Also, if your dog is a picky eater, you may want to pick up some Nutrical, which is basically a high-calorie syrup that will make sure they get their vitamins and that their blood sugar does not drop.
Ask your vet about this.

Your puppy is so lucky that you are wanting the very best for it.
Since Chihuahuas eat so very little, the food that they do eat needs to be packed with nutrients, instead of filler. I would recommend Solid Gold, Wellness, Innova, Wysong, or Canidae puppy kibble, moistened if she has trouble chewing it...No dog food found in the grocery store is sufficient nutrition for a Chihuahua puppy.

You will find at last some of the brands I listed in your local pet supply shop.

Look for a good dog food, specifically for puppies. The best way to feed is all they can eat in 20 minutes, twice a day, until they are about a year, then once daily.

Not much!

Seriously though, I have a chihuahua and when she was a puppy, I just fed her puppy food, but real small amounts. It is best to feed it small amounts often rather then just one meal a day.
