I am considering getting another dog as a companion for my 3 year old pom mix. He's very affectionate and definitely a momma's dog. I recently kept a friend's dog for 2 weeks and Eisenhower (my dog) was jealous and didn't really pay any attention to the other dog. However, I worry that he is lonely when I'm at work or school. Should I try another pet, or just let it be?

We are at our wits end. We have a four year old Boston Terrier that refuses to learn anything. We have worked with him four the entire four years that we have had him (since he was 8 weeks old).
He is is house broke but the problem we are having with him is he has no attention span.
It is very difficult to take him for walks because he is always trying to take off from one of us to chase something even though he is on a choke chain.
If we take him outside to go to the bathroom, he just stands there looking around.
He wants to go for a walk everytime he goes out the door. I should mention that I am handicapped and use a cane so it is hard for me to walk him sometimes.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to calm this dog down so he is easier to handle?

Im from the U.S and i have a dog in Colombia i visit her about 1 a year and everytime i visit her she sees me and she pees from excitment. People tell me she just thinks im another kid but im sure she remembers me because i always bring her little toy that i gave her when she was a little puppy. She also follows me EVERYWHERE and doesnt let me out of sight even if shes sleeping and i move she immidiatly wakes up. I also sleep with her in the same room when i go there instead of her sleeping in her doghouse.Im pretty sure she remembers me and misses me because i saved her life off the streets. People tell me she acts that way around all kids but im sure she loves me most. If only i could bring her here What do you think? If you want me to go in detail about when i saved her just say so. Thanks

My husband went out to water the garden today and noticed my daschuhund will not move. When she tries to her back legs move but she just goes backwards. My husband tried to pick her up and she yelped from pain.
Before you say take her to the vet they are closed in my area and we do not have any money to take her to an emergency care they demand payment upfront.
does anyone know of anyway to make her comfortable until tomorrow when we can get her to the vet?
also, does anyone know what might be wrong with her?

My dog got out the front door and got hit by a car. we took him to the vet and they had to amputate his left front leg. They took it off at the shoulder, so the whole leg is gone, and he walks kind of lop-sided and has no balance. He is also now blind in his right eye.

he can catch frisbee, swim underwater to fetch rocks, and can chew a 2x4 in half. he hates cats, except for the flavor, and eats their tasty little tootsie rolls right out of the litter box. he eats popcorn and hot peppers, drinks beer & bacardi with coke. he likes burritos too, but watch out! he can climb trees, but is chicken to come back down. haha. 10 bonus points if you can guess his name

My vet put him on Hill's Science Diet d/d dog food, and told me he can't have regular dog treats while we're treating his allergies. She told me I can give him carrots and things like that instead. However, he doesn't want the carrots....I've tried several times now. Does anyone know what else a dog on d/d can have? Hopefully there are some vets on here! (I'll call my own vet tomorrow, but my dog is jonesing for treats NOW!)

My 1 yr. old female neo mastiff has been treated with amoxicillin for a UTI. Curiously, the vet said that if it didn't clear up after tx., and if I noticed that she has urinated while sleeping, we may have to do further tests. Something about specific gravity in the urine test??? Well, she has peed in her sleep twice since Friday-not a lot-but enough to notice. Her urine still looks quite concentrated. Any idea what she was eluding to? Ican't get her till Monday-The vet on call has no idea about my dog, and sz this can wait?? Is there something really wrong???
