my family just recently bought a bulldog. he is 4 yrs old and when he gets excited, he jumps up and runs to the door. earlier today he actually ran into the door. it was funny. anyways, he requires vaccinations regularly, like any other dog and eats only once a day. he gets along great with other people, mainly because he doesnt really care.

My dog, Ricky is a chow/retriever mix. he is about a year old now. i recently discovered he has sores behind his ears and he has been scratching. is it fleas or flies. the flies are bad in new mexico. should i just bathe him in a flea bath and get him a flea collar. or should i take him to the vet?
also, my other dog, Mocha, she is about 6 months or so. she seems to not be gaining any more weight. she is not deathly skinny or anything but she eats like a horse and doesnt gain anymore weight. could that be worms? or could she just be a naturally skinny breed. the pound said she is a rottweiler mix. she is small for a rott. so i think she has a smaller mix in her. she does have long legs though. my husband thinks maybe she could have some german shepherd in her because of her muzzle length. she has the markings of a rott though and is beautifully colored. how can i tell what breeds she has in her?

Do people honestly make a living showing their dogs? I'm curious because where do they get the money to travel around the U.S. and the world (besides competition money)?

And how can someone tell if a dog is good enough for the show ring or not?

We will be fencing in an area in our back yard for our dogs. It will have a gravel base under half of it, grass in the other half. What will I need to use to clean it to keep it from stinking up the whole back yard? We will be cleaning up the poo every other day or so, so I guess its the urine that is my concern. Thanks!

My border collie loves playing fetch and will do it for hours given the chance. He even brings me the ball when im in the lounge but he never brings it back to me where i am.Its always a couple of feet away.I have to go and get it and throw again. If he wants me to do it more often then its easier for him to bring me the ball.

Why don't they do a search for that question? I did a search and found over 650 similar questions. If each had 5 legitimate answers there would be 3250 answers. Is there a way that some of the more serious folks here could convince Yahoo to filter out the repetative questions or grant them another category (like: Pet Names)?
I can think of many more repetative dog related questions (i.e. How do you train a puppy? What should I feed my dog? When can I breed my dog? etc. etc.) that everyone here sees daily.
If people with legitimate questions would do a search first, they might not need to ask again (I'm venting now).
What are some of the same dog questions you keep reading over and over that you'd no longer want to see asked here?

It was late at night -- I wasn't home. A friend opened the front door, my dog (a German Shepherd) ran out and down the street and killed the cat in their front yard. The ladies came out and saw it. Am i trouble? How much should I expect to compensate them? Any other advice?

My dog Shadow, she is a female Bichon (i think thats how you spell it) She is old (13 years, had puppies when she was about 4 as well), and recently has grown several white bumps on her body, all over... I don't know what they are, and now today she started sort of chewing and licking them. Also, she has been following me around constantly now, she never has done this. This morning she slept on my couch in my room and stayed there until I left. She would NEVER come to my room because she could never go up/down stairs... Please help! Should I take her to the vet?

He is well behaved most of the time but I think it is when he is bored that he starts doing stuff that he shouldn't. He knows it is bad because he hides when I see it and he thinks I won't know it was him. Any suggestions?
