Well, you can either tell him to 'down' then put him in a crate for a few minutes every time this happens or you can tell him 'down' and check his rectal temp everytime this happens. Eventually he will get the idea that it is an unwanted behavior and when you say down - he will get down for fear of going in the crate or getting his temp taken!

My dad's German Shepherd/ Afghan mix does this. so does my rott mix. when ever they jump up on us, we scold in a loud voice (not yelling) and say NO! while saying no, grab their front legs and push them gently down. tell them stay. when they sit give them a treat. if they keep doing it just keep disciplining them in that matter. my dad will lightly thump them on the nose with one finger to get their attention and tell them no at the same time. these usually work for training our dogs. my other dog the chow/ retriever mix doesnt jump up on anyone because he has learned that it is wrong.
remember, discipline if bad, reward if good. always.

when the dog jumps up on you raise your leg so you hit him in the chest with your knee. You need some basic obedience classes. Call your local Petsmart.

When she jumps on someone put her in time out on a leash out side that way she knows that she is doing something wrong.

look at your dog right before he/her gets ready to jump up on anyone and say down and also use a hand motion that shows what down is.
