If you are certain they have, is it possible to get a record? Or a evidence of the killing? I just want have some direction as to where I could find such information. My rottweiler is just 1 year old and a neighbour is making a false claim that my rottweiler's attacked him. The neighbour doesnt even know what the breed is and he's already saying it kills people in Hong Kong. I understand there have been killings outside of Hong Kong but if they have been in HK I just need proof to believe it.

Ten-year-old Elroy girl killed by dogs.
(Elroy-AP) -- The six Rottweilers that killed a ten-year-old girl in Elroy have been euthanized.
That's the word tonight from Juneau County Sheriff Brent Oleson.
http://www.dogexpert.com/Examples/MaustonDogMauling.htm

Humans have a far better chance of being killed by domestic dogs, mostly Rottweilers, Pit bulls and German shepherds, than by grizzlies. Between 1991 and 1998, Rottweilers killed 33 people in America and Pit bulls killed 21.

Even if a Rottweiler had killed a person before, in Hong Kong or in US, it doesn't mean that your Rottweiler will kill a person. If you know your Rottweiler doesn't like your neighbor(which is possible because your dog might sense his "negative engergy"), keep your dog away from him and don't let him walk around by himself on the street. Truth is, if you are a Rottweiler lover, you know that they are actually loving and loyal. However, a lot of people misunderstood this breed and think that this dog can only be vicious. While your neighbor has no right to make false accusation and tell you what to do with your dog, you might also want to give that ignorant person some peace of mind. Keep your dog away from this person can also prove to him that Rottweiler can be obedience too, right? You really don't want this situation to get nasty. If he really makes a report of your dog attacking him, chaces are animal control will believe him because of the prejudice toward Rottweiler. I have deal with animal control before, and I will tell you they were really nasty even after they realize my dog and I were the victims and were wrongly accused. They just want to save face and they really don't care if you are right, and they don't care about killing another Rottweiler. I think it will be to your advantage that if you properly train your Rottweiler. Not just normal traning, I mean bringing him to obedience school, and have him professionally trained. That way, your neighbor(or if situation gets worst, animal control) will only see a wonderfully behaved Rottweiler that they have nothing to pick on, right?

not all rotties are aggressive. your neighbour would have to prove that your dog attacked him!! where are the bitemarks or bruises?? he is someone who is against dogs. i would keep an eye on your neighbour ,he might try to provoke your dog . he's just a trouble maker trying to scare you! and even if a rottie in hong kong did attack someone it doesn't mean yours will do the same does it?? this person is definately worth watching. let him think you aren't worried but just look out. when you are with your dog you should avoid speaking to him when there no witnesses around. try to build up a really good reputation for your pet such as making sure he is well known as a sweetie in everyones eyes. try asking your nearest rottie club for advice. so i hope iv'e helped good luck bye for now

I don't know about Hong Kong, but a rottweiler killed over fifty people in South Korea. They used it for a banquet and it had gone off, salmonella is a painful death you know.

unless this stupid man making the claim has any marks on him i can't see how he can make a claim! and to Veronica W, do you actully know anything about the breed?. The reason this breed has been given a bad name is because stupid people sell puppies to idiots (hoodies) who want a rottweiler to make then look 'Hard'. Its not the dogs fault, its the owners!

Does yr neighbour have phyisical proof that yr rotti had hurt them?? (bite-scratches-gauges?) if not- they dont hav a leg to stand on! haha-but seriously...i have a 4yr male weighin 12 stone and he was teased by street member while drunk-he was hurt but didnot press charges! knowing his fault- Fewww..trained people will come to house, to check n see if yr dog is attackin 4 no reason.... if he/she passes...theres no prob. ADVICE- if u love yr rotti then always use a muzzle out-side/ will b heart breakin for them to die for protecting u- a growl is enough to ward strangers off while on a lead.....good luck!! from me& zac(woof)

any particular dog breed is not a killer - its the humans that own & train them.

my rotty is a kind, calm loving individual but i have worked hard to train him since he was 6mths old (he's now 3).

he also has a fascination with children though he couldn't eat a whole one

im not sure about that, but i would like to say to veronica w, its people like you who give rottys a bad name, if you dont know anything about the breed dont say any thing, i have two female rottys who have never shown agression to any one, my 2year old grandson plays with them and pulls there ears, so unless you got any thing good to say (SHUT UP)
