Picking up dog poop is the most disgusting thing ever. The sidewalks are nasty and you can smell dog pee in the Summer heat. If I was mayor, I would ban dogs in NYC.

My dog is a golden retriever. Should I brush her before giving her a bath? And should I use a certain type of soap or shampoo? Also, is it okay to use a blow dryer on dogs or should I just stick to towels?

She says that's why they "wolf" down human food so fast, because they can't taste it with their tongues anyway. I say they do it as an instinct left over from being wolf: the faster you eat something rare and precious (a piece of cheese when you're used to kibble, say) the less likely someone else will snatch it up away from you.

I have a 6 month old Lhasa Apso, I've had her for about 3 months. At first I tried getting her to use liners inside the house but she would sometimes go on these other times she wouldnt. She also likes to poop in dark corners. Recently I've tried training her to go outside, If i keep her in her cage long enough to when she has to go then take her out in the morning she'll go ok. But when I'm working and my roomate takes her out she'll go but then when she comes back inside she'll just go in random places. Help!! My apartment is starting to smell like dog piss!

How do I get her to know just to go outside and not inside?! Also do girl dogs have their periods and such? How do I deal with that?

Also why is this thing so freaking slow to type?!?!? It' s pissing me off!

I would probably get a mix just because thats what I'm used to, my last dog was a blacklab/germanshepherd. I think Im leaning toward a germanshepherd/bordercollie mix. What is your opinions about this and these following dog breeds: Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Australian Shepherd?? thanks!

Why do Dogs always run out and bark at black people?

The neighbor's dog never bothers anyone except my roomate, who is black. He cornered him in his car the other day and he couldn't get out. LOL.

Here was the question: "What do u think my dad did with the dogs?" posed by a 12 year old girl recently. Why are there so many sick jokes about how people think her father may have shot or BBQ'ed the dogs? Is it asking too much to try to have a little sensitivity towards children asking questions on here?

my dog that i had for 12 yrs just died in february and i want to get a puppy (either a border collie, german shepherd, or golden retriever, let me know if you know anything about any of these) but my mom says we dont have time cause i work and have basketball, but i find myself a lot of times wishing i had a dog, i walk a lot and i would be able to walk it. The thing is, my dog before knew to stay out of the road and to stay on the property, i live on a busy road out in the country tho, about 2 1/2 acres, no fences. However we have had someone just walk into our house (havent been robbed but after this i see how easy it would be) and the cat doesnt really seem to even let out a single hiss... so i feel unsafe and have never felt like this until about march.. anyways thanks i know this is long but just wanted to know everyone's opinion about owning a puppy and having a busy life.

My 7 month old female Shizhu killed one of the four puppies of my daughter's dog 's litter. Also the mother of the 17 day old puppies is the mother of my Shihzu. The mother of the puppies had the litter at my house and while the puppies were left unattended for a few minutes this is when she killed one of the puppies. Both my daughter and I are shocked and saddened by this horrible incident and would just like to know why a little dog would do such a thing.
