Yes, it is normal. My hounds will lay and graze like cattle!
It doesn't mean that they are in need of anything in their diet, except greens...dogs like fresh greens.

Generally if a dog is eating grass it has an upset belly. This in normal, because the grass will make it throw up and what ever was making the belly upset is now out of it.

Yes, dogs eat grass.
While the experts have tried to figure out why, they keep coming up with several reasons why. Sometimes they eat grass just to throw up. Sometimes they eat grass because they like the flavor.
My dog gets to run through fields, and she eats different grasses, tastes others, and mouths still others. In some ways their mouths are like our hands, they are feeling what different things are like. She likes specific plantss so she pulls leaves off those and eats them. Then runs on to the a different plant that she just puts her mouth on, then onto another one that she will chew but not eat.
So it's perfectly normal. Some dogs do it more than others. People often see the results of dogs forcing themselves to throw up, but they don't see the dogs nibble on grasses at other times.

It is normal. Usually it means that your dog has an upset stomach or is hungry. Either way it wont harm your dog though, and dont be worried if your dog throws up because it would be because of the grass.
