I would think so. They eat just about anything and lick just about anything, including their little doggie-butts! I love dogs, but I think they are probably dirtier than humans, but I guess that depends on the human, right? ;-)

that depends on the human. they certainly don't mind being dirty. dogs that is. they don't clean themselves. monthly bathing by you needs to be done. anymore will dry out their coat. they sell dog wipes for inbetween bathing. i don't know if anyone can train a dog to wipe their feet before tracking mud all over your house and your clothes when they jump on you. of course you can train them not to jump. i do know that they have special germ killing bacteria in their mouth that makes them cleaner then human mouths. thank god because they love drinking out of toilets and drinking swamp water. and i had a dog or two that ate their own poop and my cats out of the litter box. my vet said it is because of the protein they smell in it. yuck. when they come in from the rain they will shake all over the place. but that is just water. hopefully no mud. some dogs drool. i hate that. also ticks and fleas are no fun, but at least there is medication like advantage that works like magic. make sure it is from the vet and not the stores. only the top 2 or 3 work. but in short. if you have never owned a dog and are worried about dirt, dander, mud, rain, drool, and other bad habits dog have, i would suggest a very self cleaning cat. good luck-julie

My canines are air purifier than a lot of human beings are and that i truly might have no qualms approximately eating a bag of chips after touching "my own" canines. in fact I many times do. Being TOO fussy and strict approximately cleanliness isn't a good concept because it weakens the bodies organic protection device in the direction of germs. I continually wash my palms earlier touching nutrition I furnish to persons although and after using public bogs. Jmo.

Truth be told, probably not. They're in the dirt and other crap, but think about it......we touch money that has been handled by thousands of other people, some who haven't seen a bathtub in ages. We shake hands with people and don't know what they've touched. Some people eat off the floor....who knows what was on someone's shoes who just walked through. If you think about it, humans are pretty nasty.

My four legged babies are cleaner than most people. They take baths and get there teeth brushed. When they poop, I wipe there bottoms with wet ones.I guess this would depend on the care giver.
