My puppy does not want to walk on his leash. He thinks he is being funny and will just sit there. My training book says to just drag him along he has two choices either keep getting dragged or walk? Any advice on other ways to get him to walk nicely? It seem that every day gets worse and worse. All other training is going well except for this. Please help...

I have a 6 year old dog who panics when he hears fireworks.
This may not seem strange but we used to live near the beach (in spain) and they set off a lot of fire works here and he wasn't bothered at all.

Now, he has panic attacks (we think a kid threw a firework on our terrace when we were out)

We leave the door open so that he can get inside, but he has started to scratch the doors. (sometimes i'm at work till late and he's alone)

Is there anything we can do to help him stop having panic attacks.

I leave food out for my dog all the time - he doesn't overindulge and is not overweight. If he's hungry, he should be able to eat. When I come home, dog is happy. I play with dog, pet dog, all that stuff. First thing after that, that dog wants to do, is eat...I think he's starving himself all day because he's lonely and depressed. Anybody else see this too?

My dog of 7 years (she's actually 9 years old) was diagnosed with malignant melanoma a few weeks ago when I took her in for her annual exam (yes, it was a shock!). The vet said it's the most aggressive form of cancer and will spread quickly because it is in her mouth. When I asked him what my options are, he said that she is terminal and to make her comfortable while she's still here, but that most likely she only has two months left, if that. So... big question... WHEN do I put her down? I spoke with a woman who has a dog hospice and she said to watch for changes in appetite (still good), energy level (sleeps all the time) and her eyes, because dogs are very stoic and don't show pain... Do I put her down now while she's still semi-healthy (still has appetite) or wait until the symptoms are worse and the pain is very apparent. I really need help to sort this out. Many thanks.

We recently dipped her for fleas, but I have never had a dog do this before. It is not on her entire body either, it is on about half of her body, her back half.

I put carrots in the freezer and give him those like popsicles. They last him a while and cool him down.

Also, he likes ice cubes, sometimes.

What else can I give him?

Our maltese/poodle was trained to be fed like a baby (human), rather than to feed itself at its bowl. She will take kibble from the bowl and will not eat it until you make an attempt to take it from her. When you attempt to grab the kibble, she growls, then eats it. I'm concerned that if we do not retrain her to eat from the bowl, then we'll have to cater to this behavior for a long time to come. Seeking to be trained how to help my dog. Dog professionals, please help!

Pretty much overnight, my dog's coat went from flat and shiny to fluffy and dull. She feels much softer now. It seems very odd.
