I put carrots in the freezer and give him those like popsicles. They last him a while and cool him down.

Also, he likes ice cubes, sometimes.

What else can I give him?

in the car....please, please, please don't leave your dog in the car!!! that's so sad!
i drive a jeep wrangler with the top off and my dog loves it!, but i wouldn't dream to leaving him in the summer sun out in the car while i went into the store to get groceries.

when we go for a drive we make sure our pup is getting lots of air flow...either from the air conditioning or b/c the windows are out and the top is off!

for outside...we bought him a kiddie pool, which he really likes, but we don't leave him outside for too long. we live in SC so it gets really hot outside!!!
we also bought him this rubber bone from wal-mart. it has a stopper on one end to put water in and then stick it in the freezer. so, when he's outside the rubber bone is cold to chew on and there are little holes where the cold water (melts from ice) comes out!
he really likes this thing.

the carrots are a great idea and also the ice cubes.
check pet stores like petsmart or petco and i'm sure they can give you some cold weather ideas too!

oh, and he likes the sprinkler too! oh, i just read another answer about freezing a 2 liter bottle to keep them cool, you could also freeze water in a 20 oz. bottle and let them chew on it like a bone. my pup loves 20 oz. bottles. just watch to be sure they aren't swallowing the peices and peel the label off first!

Chicken broth ice cubes are great! You can also just give her plain ice cubes, my dog loves them. He dove into the cooler at a baseball game the other day just to grab an ice cube! I would not suggest actual frozen yogurt, as a dog doesn't need the sugar or flavoring. You can give her plain yogurt though (not vanilla, just plain), you could try freezing that. Also, do you have a kong? Just a classic(red) or extreme(black) one (I wouldn't suggest the puppy as your pup will grow out of it, the pup ones aren't very strong). Stuff the kong with peanut butter, and dog treats, carrots, or anything else your dog likes. Stick it in the freezer for a few hours. The peanut butter freezes and it makes for a cool yummy treat for your dog. You could also use cream cheese in small amounts.

To just help cool him off put a 2 liter bottle in the freezer the night before almost full of water. Freeze and the next morning give it too him to lay on. It will keep him cool for hours.

The frozen carrots are good. If he likes green beans, you can do the same with them. Also freeze Chicken broth or beef broth in an ice cube tray and give it to them. They also have Frosty aws Ice Cream for our furry friends.

THey have doggie pops in the supermarket. Not sure if they are good for them. I wouldn't give too many because they can get runny stools.
Ice cubes are GREAT for summer treats!!! You could even freeze up some chicken broth in an ice cube tray!
Apples are great snacks also, but I wouldn't freeze them.
Cheese. My dogs LOVE american cheese!!!

Purina make an ice cream for dogs. It is called "Frosty Paws". Have found it at Food Lion & Farm Fresh Grocery stores. Comes in original flavor and also in peanut butter flavor. It comes in a little cup and once my cocker spaniel starts licking, she does not stop until the ice cream is gone. She loves it...

Feed him soup. It's not cold but it does give them the extra water which they need. Buy the dog food that comes in soft packages. I like the Nutro ones. Each pack is about 1 cup of food. Add this to one cup of your dogs regular dry food. Add 2 - 3 cups of water and mix it until it makes a nice gravy. Dogs LOVE it.

I put ice cubes in my dogs water dish. They keep the water cool and she likes to take one out and play with it til it's gone. Quite funny to watch.

To keep your pooch cool in the car, try a crate fan. Normally used for crates, you can use the car adapter to keep the fan going while in the car.

My dog loves it...and it REALLY keeps the temperature lower in the car!
