A male and female dog seem to get along better. I've had two females at once in the past and there always seemed to be jealousy issues and competition. This didn't really exist with the male and female.

I actually wouldn't advise either. At least not for them to be left alone together. You never know when something my set on off. Pit Bulls are great dogs but best as single pets.
But, if you must...don't have dogs of the same sex in the house, dogs of any breed usually do better with a housemate of the opposite sex. Same sex pets often have territorial issues that male/female groups don't.

I don't have pit bulls, but I have two Rotts. I tried with two females and it just didn't work. They fought constantly because they both wanted to be the dominate female. Now I have a male and a female, both fixed and they love each other. They play constantly and they never fight.

fixed male and female should be fine and two females should be fine if they are supervised. we had 3 female jack russells and sometime they would fight and go for each others throats and it was terrible. they would fight sometimes for what seemed like no reason and sometimes to draw the attention to them if someone in the house was arguing or even play rough housing. we used to just pick up the wriggling fighting pair and toss them in the pool and they would either let go or drown, they always let go. cant imagine it would be easy to pick up 2 fully grown fighting female pits. if you are planning on getting them from a reputable breeder
then you can ask their advice. or maybe find a wensite on pits and see what they suggest. you can go on www.justanswer.com and for as little as $5 you can ask a question and they will give you an answer.

in my opinion it doesnt matter, they have to get along either way cause you have to be dominant over all of them. for example i have a mature female bull mastiff which is not fixed and is small at 90lbs(mom was 130 lbs dad 150 lbs) and i have a male bull mastiff(9 months old) expected to be 150-170lbs and a poor little german sheperd mix and they are always together and for the most part get along they tend to play ruff and when the female is in heat she's a little aggresive towards the puppy

Never 2 females together. They will fight. The best pair to have are a fixed male and Spayed female. Definitly fixed! Less fighting and more loving to you.

i for my section have and function had pit bulls. they are remarkable canines, loving and dependable...yet some thing approximately different animals can definatly deliver out the Jeckyl in our candy Hyde. Having each and each of them spayed or neutered could make a great difference, even yet it truly is significant that the comparable set of regulations be utilized to each and all of the canines. With sturdy, obdurate breeds, you ought to be a greater, extra obdurate proprietor. Definatly introduce them at the same time as they are on leashes. be particular you nonetheless be calm and dominant. do no longer enable any aggressive, dominant, hectic, or excited habit. Even tail wagging excitment can = hassle for our beautiful breed. do no longer enable the canines to socialise with one yet another till all of them are calm and submissive, no staring contests between the canines. They shouldn't even nicely known one yet another till you invite them to. while issues are executed on your words, the animals will see which you have administration of the placement and are much less in all probability to attempt and administration it themselves.
