dogs have anal glands on their rear that need to be drained. If they drag their butt on the ground, that is their way of doing it themselves...which is good.....otherwise you need to do it or take him to the vet.

Dogs can get a number of problems that would cause them to drag there butts across the floor! The first on I will tell you about is probably the most sever of problems that your dog could have but when your dog gets so constipated or gets diarrhea so bad and it is so bad and the problem is not addressed then there butt hole can swell up witch will cause your dog's butt hole to ether fall out or inside of your dog's butt you can notice this problem if there is a flab of skin hanging off your dog's butt, and you can also tell if you have this problem if your dog's butt looks like it has been sucked in! If you have this problem you should see your vet right away. The second problem is it could be worms witch you should treat with a wormier right away. Third it could be humanoids and they will show the same symptoms that humans get when they get humanoids to fix this problem just put some humored medicine on your dogs butt. Forth it could be that your dog is having problems with its digestion if this is the problem them slowly change your dog's diet. Other signs of a pore diet are loss of hair, getting sick easier, and other health problems! Fifth and finally it could be that your dog is just telling you that he or she has to go out side to use the bathroom!

dogs have glands near their butt that may get plugged. It needs to be seen by a vet to remove the "stuff" by squeezing the gland A very quick procedure that should not require a stay. My dog has been treated twice in six years for that.

I breed dogs for a living and know this first hand. I breed toy breeds and they are very clean. After they have done their duties, they will scrape their booties to wipe themselves.Your own dogs can do this for any reason at all, but if you watch them you will see that they do this after they use it. Some of my dogs are trained to use the bathroom in the toilet and wipe themselves with toilet paper. LOL!!!

Yes it is most likely his anal glands, you need to go to your groomer or vet. If you wait to long they can become infected. Which will be a pain in the butt for you and your dog (no pun intended)

It can be a sign of an impacted anal gland. If it is a reoccurring thing, take the dog to a vet.

That's so funny my cat does that after she gets out of the litterbox. I think animals think the carpet is one big toilet paper!

They probably need their anal glands expressed. Take them to your local groomer and ask them to give them a bath and express their anal glands. I promise things will get better.
