well this happened a few years ago and we are not friends anymore. she moved but that is not why. anyways she tried to put what looked like a dolls sweater on her kitten. he was mewing. i did not like seeing him mew. the poor thing was probably in pain when she was putting the sweater on him. i do not think animals are dolls that should be dressed up. it probably hurts there little arms a lot. whats your opinion on this.

My cat had a litter of kittens about 9 weeks ago. We kept one and gave away the rest, they were all on solid food. The one we kept is getting fat because he's eating cat food, plus still nursing! Mama cat hasn't taken any interest in weaning him yet. When do they usually wean them and should I be doing anything to help?

If I wet the cotton and rub to the eyes, is it will harm them? Any ointment or medicine suitable for them?

I have a one-year old cat that is generally very active. Yesterday I noticed that she wasn't as energetic as she usually is. She's extremely lethargic, she walks around with her tongue sticking partway out, and she is drooling excessively. I'm really worried, can someone tell me what is wrong with her? She doesn't seem to be eating or drinking much either. Thanks for any advice!

I don't even have an indoor pet, or an outdoor pet for that matter! But there are kittens under my porch and a mama cat and a little dog that comes on my porch sometimes. Anyway, as I said I have no pets, but I think I have fleas in my house! I have unexplained bites all over my ankles and feet and I saw one or two tiny black bugs. My mom and sister who DO have indoor dogs said my bites look like flea bites! So...I don't know how they got in my house or how I got bit this many times and not know it or not have seen or felt apparently a hundred bugs! At first I thought they were mosquito bites. But now I don't know after seeing those tiny bugs. Anyway, does anybody know how they would have gotten into my house? What is the best thing out there to put on the bites to keep them from itching and bothering me? Any oral over the counter meds I can take or anything to rub on them? Also, what is the BEST way to get them OUT of my house?? Help!

Someone left a kitten on our farm this past weekend. We think she is about 6-7 weeks old. We have quite a few questions so I'll just list them below and please answer what you can! Thank you in advance! :)

1. How old does she have to be before she gets her first shots?
2. How old does she need to be to be spayed?
3. How old does she need to be to get declawed? (If we choose to do that.)
4. When can she eat dry food, and is canned food alright to keep giving her?
5. Should she be drinking any milk yet?
6. Since I am pregnant are there any potential problems that could occur from keeping her?
7. What is a good way to train her to stay off of the furniture?

Again, Thank you, and I look forward to the responses!

Okay my cat is what I consider 'indoor' she only goes outside on the balcony-she loves it out there. Last June and this June she got fleas. How does she get them since she doesn't go running around in the grass outside? How long can the eggs remain dormant? I mean I went all out and got rid of all of them last year....it really took a month but we had no signs of them after that. We live in a different apt. now and the same thing happened. I don't think there are as many of them this time (I've been placing white paper down to see if I can find them to have an idea how bad it is) but it could just be because this apt. is larger than the last one. I bathe my cat and everything. How does this happen(or why)??

My female cat had babies .. they are 4 weeks and 2 days old.

How long should i wait until i get her fixed? I don't want to get her fixed too soon b/c of complications .. and i don't want to wait too long b/c i'm pretty sure she's going into heat again.
All my males are fixed but she sounds in pain and i want her to be as comfy as possible :)

P.s: All of my cats are inside only. The dad is still around (inside also) .. she got pregnant when i rescued a male cat who was being mistreated at a pet store, we ended up not getting him fixed in time. But all is good .. she has 3 HEALTHY kittens and i'm keeping all 3 :)

Thanx everyone.

Minx had kittens five and a half weeks ago, there are four of them and I'm keeping one. The problem is that my carer (who is also taking one) has a two and a half year old who seems to think it's funny to torture the kittens. She pulls their fur, hits the areas they're sleeping, stomps on their tails and generally scares them so that they hide in a corner and hiss at her until one of us rescues them. We tell her no and she just laughs, we pulls her away from the kittens and she has a temper tantrum, moves onto something else and as soon as our backs are turned goes back to the kittens..they're too scared to defend themselves so it's not like they swipe out at her to let her know they don't like it. Any advice will be greatly apopreciated as we're worried as to how she'll react to having one in her home - though hopefully by that stage, he'll defend himself.

Sensible answers only please.

Thanks for your help.

My sister just adopted a five-month-old kitten (we think). It was abandoned by its mother at her fiances parents house. Ever since she found it, a couple days ago, it has been shaking pretty badly. Is there something wrong or is this normal?

i don't have a pic, but he's all grey (no markings) with yellow eyes and a fat face. I adopted him and his papers say he a domestic shorthair(that's so general), but they say that for all cats, they even put down persians as domestic shorthairs. I want to know if he is anything special. help?
