I have a one-year old cat that is generally very active. Yesterday I noticed that she wasn't as energetic as she usually is. She's extremely lethargic, she walks around with her tongue sticking partway out, and she is drooling excessively. I'm really worried, can someone tell me what is wrong with her? She doesn't seem to be eating or drinking much either. Thanks for any advice!

In order to keep your beloved feline friend healthy, you need to take her to a vet right away.

Not to alarm, but these symptoms could be the result of poisoning.

Pulled from Purina website... "There are any number of symptoms of poisoning which may occur. Your cat may show signs of skin irritation or rashes. More serious signs of poisoning include drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea. Your cat may also become lethargic, and have hallucinations or convulsions. In some cases, poisoning can result in death. "

I am not a cat person.. but it sounds to me like your cat has a serious problem.. If she isn't eating / drinking, and she is drooling excessively.. I would think she is having a reaction to something.. If it was me, I would ask the vet. He could actually take a look, do some test, and tell you exactly what the problem is. All anyone here can do is guess.

Your cat should be seen by a VET to be on the safe side because she could of ate something that is poisonous to her. I would do it to be on the safe side. I hope your cat will be ok.

Did you recently treat her for fleas or any other condition because it could be a reaction to coming into contact with a chemical. I think you should take her to a vet. If you think she has come into contact with something bathe her, dry her and take her to your veterinarian. It sounds serious, I hope she gets better.

I had a cat several years ago who had the same symptoms. It turns out he was poisoned with anti-freeze. Call your vet immediately!

She needs to be seen by a vet. She may have something stuck in her mouth or throat, or she may have tried to eat a spider or other creature, or she may have eaten, drunk, or licked something toxic off herself.
