Cats definitely do not like to be dressed up. It probably does cause discomfort. Dogs don't seem to mind it so much. I think that if the animal is in distress cause of something that you did it is a form of abuse but of course it's not as serious as some of the other forms of abuse.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it animal abuse. At least not if she did it once and didn't leave the sweater on for long. I know the cat didn't like it, but her intentions were not to torture it, and there are so many terrible things happening, that I wouldn't call this abuse.

I agree with you 100%. Animals don't need to be dressed up although in severe cold whether some people do put some clothing or their dogs if they need to be walked outside. That makes sense to me, but to dress them up for the fun of its ridiculous. The poor animals must hate it but can’t complain about it. I think people who do that are stupid.

Although dressing an animal in clothing is stupid, a cat "meowing" is not animal abuse. If she was throwing it across the room, pulling its tail, or not providing food for it, THAT is animal abuse.

It annoys the hell out of me when people buy froo froo clothing for their PETS!! Its almost as ridiculous as a dog stroller...
People just need to realize that animals are just that - animals. They are not human babies and we do not need to dress them up in frilly pastel pinks and blues and croon over them.

Its not really abuse, although I personally think its a horrible thing to do. I'm sure its uncomfortable for them especially considering they already have fur.
