Cats certainly have the capacity to see and hear what we can't, and sense what we can't, so how can we be arrogant enough to say that because they can't speak they aren't capable of understanding much? My cat is enormously sensitive on many levels (more so than many humans, I reckon!) and probably understands more about "life" than I do.
When I pray, my cat often joins me on my prayer rug, purring. I like to think she's praying, too; though perhaps cats worship simply by being pure of essence?

No, I do not think that cats pray, but if you observe them for a while, they very often sit very still with their eyes closed almost as if they are in deep meditation and sometimes they seem to stare off into space. It almost looks to me that they are looking at something...perhaps a spirit --- I can't say because I never can see what they seem to be looking at, but they are definitely intense on looking. On a level which we as human beings do not understand, cats may very well believe in God. What we do know is that God very definitely believes in cats.

In a way, yes. Cats are of the animal kingdom, just like us and any other mammal, such as dogs, rabbits, hamsters. Cats however, lead lives based on instinct over will. Cat's communicate with each other, as well as other animals. They are definately smart enough to have a belief in a greater being. If you think about it, humans are the dumbest mammals in existence. We are the only race of species that is unable to communicate with any other species at all. So i belive that if we have beliefs, then cats certainly have their own method of spiritualisation as well.

I think praying would require a verbalizing that cats aren't capable of...
But, whether they believe in God...the Bible says the beasts of the field recognize their Maker. I'd have to hunt down the chapter and verse...so yeah. They know God in a way we over-intellectualizing folk don't.

Cats are far more independent than most humans. Therefore they don't act in a sheeplike manner and believe in something that doesn't exist simply because someone tells them they should believe in it. So the answer is "No".
And that's bull about animals not having souls. I feel sorry for those of you that think that. Very, very sorry.

Well, when me and my mother read a Religious book, my cat sits and listens. When i pray, my cat comes and sits next to me. Cats may not pray, but in SOME religons they may be known to believe in god and follow orders.

Cats don't pray because they don't believe in God. Cats are smart.

its weird that you ask that because in the morning when I wake up, my cat jumps on my bed and stares at the ceiling and moves her head in a figure eight movement for as long as i will let her. the very first times i ever saw her do it, i thought there was a fly or a bug flying overhead, but she does it every morning, so maybe she is praying....

Cats don't really have the mental capability to prey. I don't know that they have the capacity to believe in anything. They live in the present and on instinct.

I don't think that cats have the intellectual capacity to understand the concept of God, so no, probably not.
