Unless you have an automatic feeder and someone who can give them clean water...I would advise against it. When my husband and I went away for a week...we had a friend check in. Do you have anyone willing to do it? And if not for free maybe you can pay someone to do it.

I wouldn't. There's too much of a chance something bad could happen. A weekend, ok, but anything longer than that you should get someone to drop in daily, or every other day, just to check on everything. I went away for 7 days, left only 2 cats, had a friend come in every other day to check on them, but friend (not a pet keeper) forgot to check the water bucket and when I returned, the water level in the bucket was getting pretty low. It was winter so I didn't have to worry about the apartment getting too hot (winters here are fairly mild). Also having someone visit shows you being responsible so no one can accuse you or abandonment.

When i have went on vacation, i did the same with my cat and she was fine! At the most she stayed at home by herself for a week. Just make sure you leave 2 fairly large bowls of water out for them, but in your case since you have four cats maybe 3-4 bowls of water. Also make sure that they have lots of hard cat food. Other than that i don't see why you couldn't. If you still feel like something could happen to them then ask a neighbor to come and check on them!
Hope this helped!

No. Ask a neighbor to look in on them or hire someone.
All you really need is someone to look in on them, make sure their water is changed daily, clean the litterbox, and put out fresh food. It will take less than a half hour. If you can't find or can't afford a reputable petsitter, hire a trustworthy local teen.
My friend was supposed to look in on my three cats while I was gone for 4 days, and she didn't. When I got home, the poor dears were half starved and dehydrated, and the house smelled toxic, even though I had left out more than 4 times their usual food and water and both litterboxes clean.
So if you hire a neighbor or a teen, don't pay them until you return.

I truly believe that they would be fine, but I wish you had someone that could check on them once a day or maybe every other day ( just in case). If you absolutely have to, I would be sure to leave more than one cat box, numerous bowls of water and food, leave the house at a comfortable temperature and leave a TV or radio on so they can have some noise and leave a couple of lights on. Also, make sure that all closets are shut etc. so that they can not get locked in anywhere.

No. You may think that you are leaving them enough food/water, but if the cats finish it, poor things will be starving and/or dehydrated by the time you get home.
I'd suggest either leaving them with a family member or close friend, or having someone you know and trust check on the cats everyday, to make sure they have enough food and water, possibly change the litterbox and to give them attention.

No, It's not o.k. Like someone said if they spill the water they can get dehydrated
or they can just eat all the food too early.
If a cat gets dehydrated it gets very sick.
they can also fight even if they like each other. You need to find someone to check in on them If it's too expensive hire a pet sitter to come by every other day. Don't leave them alone for that long.

Please don't even consider it. There are lots of options. If a kennel is too expensive, there are companies that will come in once or twice a day just to check on them, give them fresh food, clean the litter box, etc. How about a family member? Or maybe you could work a "trade" with someone at work. They take care of your cats this time, and you offer to take care of their pets when they go away next time.

NO! It is not "right"
Get a neighbor or friend to 'pet sit'.
This could be considered as abuse or neglect of an animal.
Which is against the law.
Surely you have someone you can ask.
Do not leave your cats alone for 6 days.
They not only need fresh food and water, they need playtime.
Get a sitter.

No it's not okay...Have a friend or family member check on them daily, or hire a sitter service that'll do it for you. Anything can happen in that period of time, and someone needs to be checking on the well-being of all of your pets. I mean, won't 4 cats need a clean litter box within that time frame?
