I have a litter of 8 kittens who are 7wks old.

My first concern is that there are only 4 of them that will eat kitten food. The other 4 will only eat if I give them cooked chicken or tuna and still nurse from their mum pretty much most of the time. They are supposed to be going to their new homes when they are 8wks old so what can I do to encourage them to eat instead of constantly nurse?

Secondly, in the last few days some of the kittens have been sick. I spoke to the vet on the phone and he said that I could just wait and see how they do in the next 24hrs and if all is ok then they should be fine. Well the kitten that was initially sick was fine within about 2hrs. Over the next few days I had another few get sick but again all were fine with in an hour or so. Today the 2nd kitten who had been sick has started to be sick again. She is also one of the kittens who doesn't eat kitten food. I have also noticed she is also having a little bit of the runs.

This morning my 3 month old kitten fell from our landing upstairs (he likes to weave around the railing and walk on the outer edge). I didn't see him fall, but I heard him fall, and when I came downstairs his nose was bleeding! We immediately rushed him to the vet, and noticed that he was limping and his right paw was hurting him. The vet said that he likely bumped his nose/paw on the way down, and that nothing seemed broken. He said he'd probably be okay in a couple days, but to take him in on Monday if he was still limping.

My question to you guys is how can I help him feel more comfortable? He's asleep under one of our big chairs, and is seeming to want his space (which is understandable). He hasn't eaten anything since the fall either. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can help our baby feel better? Thanks!!!

Also, do you think he's learned not to go near the landing?

I was wondering what things i will need and what things i should watch out for with a cat. I just want a basic cat, nothing fancy and expensive, the best pets dont have to be pricey. I work 6-2pm shifts and dont go out much so the cat wont have to be on its own for too long. I also have neighbours that dont mind to look out for it if i need someone to. I am not sure about getting a kitten, perhaps a cat that has lived past the young years and is going to be a little easier in handling and house training. Thanks.

is it true you shouldn't put their food and drink next to each other, could this be why. I have tried kitten milk and water but doesn't seem interested.

he's been like this for a week. when you try to force feed him, he fights you so hard to get away that he pees himself. he has no energy at all but i don't know if that's because he's not eaten or that he's that sick.

Im leaving for two days. Should I move the bed, stand it up on its side, to prevent the cats from soiling it? They are pretty good cats, but Ive never left them alone before, so I dont know how they will react. Will it be more stressful to them if the bed is moved? They sleep on this bed and I dont have a problem with them soiling it normally, but I am worried they might get mad or something. What should i do?

I have 2 cats, clean their litter daily, and use clumping litter. I realize that their urine just stinks from ammonia. I am waiting for some Zero Odor to be delivered--my Vet's office recommended it--but I am not sure that this will solve the smell problem. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you deal with it?

i had previously told u guys that our new cat is quite lazy and sleepy and is making the younger cat the same way
anyway today at 4am i woke up and found the lazy sleepy cat wanting attention and the younger one sleeping so i decided to put them in the yard and hope for the best
well the younger cat has been in the yard before and wont jump the fence but the new one jumped the fence and it was too late for me to get her.so i just sat outside hoping for the best because i got really scared as to if she would come back.so i hear her tag bells in our neighbors yard, then she jumps the fence and i call her but she jumps into this other yard on the other side then i just sit there and i can hear her bells somewhere, so finally i hear her jump another yard and by this time i think shes long gone and wont know where the home is so finally i hear her around the front of the home opened the backyard door and she ran in

so does she know where her house is? it was her 3rd day outside

my cat is bleeding and foaming from her mouth, she is 16 years old, nearly as old as me and i have had her since i was about 2 years old, from a kitten. she hasnt eaten for 5 days now and all she is doing is drinking water, but not from her water bowl. she is drinking the rain water from outside on our steps. i am really worrid because i hope she will survive through this awful thing and be okay again but i dont want her to be in pain. i want what is best for her. please can you tell me what it is please.

My cat just turned 1 a few weeks ago and as a kitten she ate like a beast - I left her dry food 24 hours and I would give her a small can of cat food in the morning and one in the evening and she would eat them quickly and like sometime ask for more. She's a very healthy cat, very active, perfect weight and I notice that she will eat much less now, she will have a little then go back for it - I know this is normal cat behavior but was never her behavior. Is this normal because now she's no longer a kitten? She is not spayed - she is allergic to anesthesia (I found that out the hard way), she is an indoor cat that can't get out and she is a rescued stray - I've had her since 3 months old.

I just adopted my kitten from the local pound in my community last Tuesday. She is around 6 weeks old and EXTREMELY active. She is healthy and her eyes and gums are clear and her coat is nice and clean. The only thing is she has been spitting up almost every day but they did give her vaccinations so I don't know if that could be the case or not. Also, she meows a lot despite the attention I've been giving her. At night I set up a blanket and stuffed animals along with her food and water and litter box yet she still meows and will come to where I am sleeping and pounce all over my face and I haven't slept at all. Is this normal behavior? I'm taking her to the vet next wk. THANKS for any help!! :)

Ok i have this about 9 week old kitten, i have had him for about 2 weeks now. Just yesterday or the day before yesterday i have noticed his butt keeps getting very wet, sometimes poppy and he is dragging his butt alot obviously to dry it and get the nasty stuff off. He was very well at potty in the box but now i know he cant control when he does it and some vry water poop/clearish stuff almost leaks out of his butt wherever he is. We are so broke, we just had an emergency the other night where our cat got into the bleach and almost died leaving her 3 days old kittens. We took her to the vet and it was almost $600. WERE BROKE! help please!

He always says that he doesn't like having pets. I convinced him into letting me adopt my cat from the pound saying that if we didn't adopt her she was going to be put down that night and it would be all his fault. Anyway he never says anything sweet about her but sometimes when he comes home from work he doesn't come in straight away. When I look out the window he is patting the cat. Why does he behave this way?

She always does it only for attention and we give her attention when she is in side or when we see her in the yard. She is given more attention then our other cats and they don’t do this. When she is on the roof we ignore her unless there is a thunder storm because she is able to get down on her own.

Her mother stopped feeding her and was practically starving her. So i went out and bought the kitten a bottle and kitten milk. Well apparently now she wont eat from anything else but her bottle. She should be old enough to feed on solid foods but i cant get her to eat it (shes not even attracted to the smell). what should i do?!
