I just adopted my kitten from the local pound in my community last Tuesday. She is around 6 weeks old and EXTREMELY active. She is healthy and her eyes and gums are clear and her coat is nice and clean. The only thing is she has been spitting up almost every day but they did give her vaccinations so I don't know if that could be the case or not. Also, she meows a lot despite the attention I've been giving her. At night I set up a blanket and stuffed animals along with her food and water and litter box yet she still meows and will come to where I am sleeping and pounce all over my face and I haven't slept at all. Is this normal behavior? I'm taking her to the vet next wk. THANKS for any help!! :)

She's constantly meowing and biting and clawing me during the night and day. She's also very affectionate and I know she means no harm, but is this normal behavior, even all day and all night without resting much?

That's normal. All of it. Kittens are very active, and as for the biting and such, cats play rough with each other. It's gentle, not enough to kill each other or anything, but they wrestle around a lot...

and the meowing is he wanting more attention, no matter how much you're giving, or food, or warmth... anything really, just like a human baby.

Vet checkups are good anyway though. even if there's nothing wrong with your cat, checkups are always good.

All those actions show that your kitten is extremely healthy. You would be the only person who is taking her cat to the vet for hyperaction. The first thing you should remember that it is just a kitten who needs lots of attention..but really lots of it!People say cats are independent but not when it comes to accompany. You could be surprised how a cat can be so attached to you.Especially single kittens would be always around you since they don't have any sister or brother to play with and to lean on while sleeping.Your little kitten wants only your love.Stuffed animals are cute but they don't give the warm body temperature and distinctive smell that you give to her.
Besides cats sleep in day time and get active at night time.According to their true nature night time is hunting time.So she could be even more active in your sleep time.Until she gets used to your sleeping schedule you got to be patient.Try to make her tired before you go to bed.She is just a baby who needs to be looked after patiently for a while.Any other kitten would not be very different unless they have a special condition.
I found my story in your question. My cat was extremely nuts! She did not let me sleep at night time.Let alone sleep she used to bite me bad.But I never reacted her angerily.I kept calm and tolerant.I acted like nothing happened and just petted her back. She forgat about all her bad habits in time and got calmer without losing the energy to play. When i went back to where I took her for a visit, the people who gave her to me were amazed how behaving and nice she was. They all asked me how I tamed that "crazy kitten".I just said "patience always pays back."

all of the hyperactivity is normal, but you might want to get the spitting up checked out at your vet sometime soon if it persists

YES THIS IS NORMAL BEHAVIOR FOR A KITTEN WHAT SHE NEEDS IS A PLAY MATE(ANOTHER KITTEN) TO CALM HER DOWN AND FEEL LESS LONELY
