he's been like this for a week. when you try to force feed him, he fights you so hard to get away that he pees himself. he has no energy at all but i don't know if that's because he's not eaten or that he's that sick.

He could have FLUTD which is short for Feline Urinary Tract Disease. My cat has it. Basically, it's common in male cats, their urine is too alkaline or too acidic and it causes the bladder to create crystals in the urine. Sometimes these crystals can iritate the urethra while your cat is urinating which would explain the blood in the urine. (If this is even what your cat has, you'll have to ask the vet). This is painfull for your cat so he tries to compensate having to urinate a lot by not eating or drinking as much. They can tell for sure if this is what he as by a urine sample. If the stones are oxylate crystals then his urine is too acidic, and if they are struvite, then his urine is too alkaline. My cats stones are struvite, so I buy him food that is going to naturally raise the acidity in his urine by giving him food with dried cranberry in it. I have not had a problem with the stones since I have been doing this. If on the other hand your kitties crystals end up being oxylate, then you will have to do research on how to lower the acidity in your kitties urine. The vet will be able to tell you which kind (if any) crystals your kitty has when they get the results back from the lab. Sometimes they can tell you right on the spot by looking under a microscope. This is very serious however if this is what your kitty has because not only is it painful for your kitty (feels like he is peeing sandpaper), but those crystals can actually cause a blockage, and that blockage can kill your kitty within a few hours. So don't hesitate, get him to the vet right away. Good Luck! P.S. This condition is also sometimes referred to as FUS Feline Urologic Syndrome, just in case you want to research it, but mostly it is known as FLUTD.

Urinary tract infection or it may be something more serious. Take him to a vet and an inexperienced person should never try to force feed a cat. Negative results with the relationship between the owner and cat occur.

could be a urninary tract infection. Or something wrong with kidneys. My cat Harley had to go to the vet because he was having problems. They tested his urine and found crystals in it which isn't good. He was put on a prescription food and it worked! We eventually put him on Purina One Urinary Tract Formula (cheaper) and it works just as well!

Needs to see a vet.

it's best to bring your cat to the vet. having blood in his urine, especially for that long isn't a good sign. your cat may have a bladder problem.
