i had previously told u guys that our new cat is quite lazy and sleepy and is making the younger cat the same way
anyway today at 4am i woke up and found the lazy sleepy cat wanting attention and the younger one sleeping so i decided to put them in the yard and hope for the best
well the younger cat has been in the yard before and wont jump the fence but the new one jumped the fence and it was too late for me to get her.so i just sat outside hoping for the best because i got really scared as to if she would come back.so i hear her tag bells in our neighbors yard, then she jumps the fence and i call her but she jumps into this other yard on the other side then i just sit there and i can hear her bells somewhere, so finally i hear her jump another yard and by this time i think shes long gone and wont know where the home is so finally i hear her around the front of the home opened the backyard door and she ran in

so does she know where her house is? it was her 3rd day outside

Yes, she does. Cats have an exception sense of finding their way home, normally. The only time I saw it fail (slightly) we lived in a Quadplex where they all looked the same and the neighbor had her screen out. Of course, that could have been a case of curiosity, rather than a confused home sense. It's better to keep them in, if you can, not because of not finding their way home, but because of so many dangers in the outside. Once they start going outside, it get almost impossible to keep them in.

i think she must know where her house is if she came back.
as soon as my kitten jumped the fence for the first time i was really worried but a few hours later i opened the door and he came running back in.
