YES, its perfectly safe. I have a cat and I actually live in Tucson and my cat goes outdoors during the day. I love my cat and shes just fine! Just make sure it has water available somewhere because as you know its sooooo hot right now! :)

Most outdoor cats have a much shorter lifespan than indoor cats. Outdoor cats are prone to cat fights, disease, parasites, hit by cars, poisons, dog attacks, and predators. I believe you have coyotes in Arizona, so these would be a threat. Also, saw on an Animal Planet rescue program in Arizona, a cat fell in a spiny cactus and had to have thousands of spines removed--it was literally covered head to toe in spines and you couldn't even tell it was a cat!

I wouldn't let a cat outdoors in the heat, especially in Arizona. They are domesticated animals and need the comforts of airconditioning just like people. Your cat will be safer and you will be happier having a healthy pet. Good luck.

Probably not because of all the dangers between predator and the heat. Not a good place to let a cat go outside.

Depends on how safe your area is. Heat isn't really an issue for cats -- they thrive in it, unlike dogs. Obviously they can't stay outside in blistering heat with no shade but as long as they have plenty of cool, shady places to relax in and have food and water, they are fine.

Outdoor cats live much shorter lives than indoor cats. I would keep the cat indoors all the time.
