I have a 2 year old cat who has been vomiting anywhere from 3-6 times a day over the past 2 1/2 weeks. It is almost always that frothy bile (first it was clear, now it is bright yellow). He has stopped eating, stopped defecating and pretty much stopped drinking over the weekend and is very lethargic and slow with walking. He has been to the vet several times- they ran multiple sets of blood work, 2 sets of x-rays, 2 ultrasounds, switched his diet three times, given him anti-vomiting medication and pepcid-ac, and nothing has helped. Our vet has suggested that we do the exploratory surgery, but my husband will not go along with that idea as he thinks the cat won't live long anyways and it is very expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? At least how I can make him comfortable?

I currently feed my cat Science Diet Indoor Cat, and some people on here are saying that it's a "Low Quality Cat Food," it comes strongly reccommended from my Vet. What do you all feed your cats?

My boyfriend is allergic to cats. He's been on allergy meds for over a year & he's fine with the cats. We broght home a dog yesterday & his eyes have been watering since. Given the fact he forgot to take his meds 2 days in a row the day before & the other day before, does this mean he's allergic to the dog or is it just his lack of responsibility? I wonder if it's b/c he forgot the meds the other day & now all this excitement from all the animals is stirring up more dander? Any suggestions?

I noticed my cat has hurt her tail. I feel really bad that i didnt notice this before. It looks like it happened a little while ago as the end of her tail seems to be scabbed over. I think she has either been in a fight or got in caught in something. I have had a good look and there is a scab on the end of her tail about the size of my little finger nail and i cant see the real extent of the damage it seems to be ok, i see no signs of infection or anything. Just wondered if this could casue her problems with balance or anything like that. I would have taken her to the vets if i had spotted it in the 1st place. As it does not appear to infected i dont really see the point, I just want reasurance she will be ok i guess.

I have used tweezers before to remove ticks from him, but the whiskers area seems to be very sensitive and he won't let me get close enough.

...sit in the middle of the road until a car is about a foot away, then stroll off like they knew we'd stop for them?

Has anyone experienced this or any other odd animal behaviour?

When a cat goes into labor, will she cry or make noises? We just adopted a cat that should give birth any day. She is in the garage due to my son's allergies to cat's. There are no vehicles or dangerous items in the garage, so she has plenty of room to move and be comfortable. I have a laundry basket with towels and blankets in there for her. I didn't sleep last night because I was worried about her. Should I be able to hear her when she goes into labor, I have read up on the signs of labor - are these usually typical, or is each cat different? I got up this morning expecting to see babies:) I am so excited!!

My cat is about 5 years old and my mom had her front paws declawed a couple years ago and i think she has a hard time doing #2 because she doesn't bury it and she doesn't clean herself either. Also she chews her fur off around her backside but I dont think that has anything to do with her litter.

He bites on door stops, wood, furniture, shoes, clothing, fingers, and especially feet and toes. Then of course anything that moves is done for. And he tries to eat the 4 year old cat.

I will be gone from this Thursday to Sunday. I don't want to have to take my 1yr old cat with me since it will be a 2 1/2 hour drive. I would love if she could stay home since that is where she is most comfortable, but is this too long for her to be alone?

i have a almost 5 week old kitten and moms not around. So i've been feeding it milk replacement. Tonight she woke up and started to cry for milk, so i fed her and put her back. But she doesn't want me to put her in the box. I hear that kittens only cry for two reasons milk and coldness but its not either at the moment. what do you think is wrong???

My black cat who is 7-8 years old, has developed some black spots on two sides of his anus hole (sorry about being graphic). The dots kinda look like worm head type things...but then again they look more like dried poo. These black things have been there for a long time...prob 3-4 months.

I love my cat very much and i am worried and want to know if i need to take him to the vet (i am a starving college student so this is a last option) Thank you for all the input.

i have this female that is almost 6 months old.She went into heat abut 2 months ago.Kind of young I thought. To make a long story short I have alot of cats and dogs around my house because they are homeless and most have been abused in one way or another. We had plan on getting her spayed but considering that she lives inside and all the stray males lives outside I decided it could wait another month.Bad mistake. My 9 year old brought one of the males in when I was cooking. He was in the house for maybe 15 seconds when he jumped my cat.He had her for maybe 5 seconds. She is very much pregnant now.She has been to the vet and the vet expects her to deliver with no problems.Tonight I noticed she has worms again. She was just dewormed at 2 months of age.Can I get her dewormed again but instead of a vet can I buy the dewormer from a store or do I have to wait for her to have them and wait until the kittens are weaned or can the vet do this again?

My kitten that is 6months old has had a bad time with illness. He had ear mites about 2 months ago and had ot wear a cone. After getting the all better he was diagnosed with food allergies and the cone went bk on due to him scratching. He has been on the new food about 3 weeks as the vet wanted us changing food slowly. He still scratches to the point of tearing his face open if we take cone off. How long to see results? Also he has conjivitus(sp?) in eyes and has drops for it. Today one eye swelled shut. I will be calling vet tomorrow am but am a very concerned mommy. We do have 2 other cats that are fine and healthy. This poor guy has not been able to have his needles and therefore get fixed due to his problems and other cats (females) are not impressed at his attempts to mate, they are all ready fixed. Any and all advice appreciated. Even if you tell me I am worrying and to calm down. I so want him to be albe to not have cone on and be a normal kitty.
thank you all

He left some pretty big tooth marks, but didn't chew through to the wire anywhere. The cord doesn't feel hot or anything. I'm probably going to replace it with a new surge protector soon and spray it with bitter apple, but do I really _have_ to replace it? Can I just patch it with duct tape and spray it, or is a chewed cord always a fire hazard?

She's 6 months old, I got her spayed 16 days ago, had her stitches taken out 6 days ago. The wound is healing well but I'm still concerned. She's starting to smell a bit (last time i gave her a bath was the day before her surgery)

A year or so ago I had my older cats teeth cleaned, they were a little grungy so I wanted to make sure they were gonna stay healthy etc. Anyway I got the procedure done which involved anesthetic etc and I brought her home.. she was having a hard time breathing and sounded really wet like in her throat.. I called the vet and described it and they said it was normal and was from the lubrication used to insert the tube in her throat. Well she didnt get better and I stayed up with her all night as she laboured to breathe she didnt eat or drink and was very sickly.. finally in the morning I wanted to get her to drink so I took a small syringe and tried to get her to drink, she freaked out and vomited up a large wad of medical gauze, after that she was fine, I called the vet very upset and they checked her out but did not offer to refund me, Is that really right? Shouldn't they count those things just like for humans to make sure none are left behind?
