I don't know, but I think your idea of new flavour is sound. Suggest it to the manufacturers, they might offer you the job of tasting cat's bottoms, so you'll get the flavour just right for them.

This may sound gross but I know that my mother in law has tasted her pet's canned food before to see how it tastes. To me that's beyond gross. My cat's when they get canned food get whatever looked good at the store, and if they don't eat it then I know they don't like the taste and I won't buy it again.

they actually have people they pay to taste dog food. I am not sure about cat food.

Obviously they test it on cats....do you see any notifications of "not tested on animals" on the can? What would a human know about what cats prefer anyhow?
