I have only just got a kitten before xmas so she not been out yet so it looks like i have all this to come. But have you tried putting a bell on the collar the mice might have a chance to get away then hence you will not be having as many gifts. I always thought cats just played with the mice obviously i was wrong mmmmm not looking forward to having dead mice body parts being brought to me.

It has been many years since I have had an outdoors cat that had the opportunity to hunt mice or birds. Before I realized all the hazards in the great outdoors, I did have a big Yellow Tom who was a occasional hunter -- he too ate just the heads -- I think it was because he was not needing the food, so he simply killed and nibbled on his prey, which happened to be the head, then like any rich guy would waste what he didn't really need...

My cat does a similar issue, in spite of the undeniable fact that she's indoor and outdoor. She has each of the catfood she needs yet nevertheless kills animals and eats the accurate. She brings the body back to my porch as a contemporary. i guess that's her way of providing for the relatives.

My cat used to cut the heads of of mice and birds after playing with them for a while. not sure why thought, might have been because he was well fed and did not need the extra food but love chasing prey.

You should feel honored. The head is the worst to digest on its prey, not only is your cat providing for you but it is also making sure you get the best part of the kill. Congrats, you're part of its pride.

Don't feel bad though, my cat use to leave animals parts around the back stoop until we stopped letting him out. And you never knew what part you'd find.

My cat used to eat every part of the mouse except this one little white organ that I couldn't identify. It's all preference I spose - your cat obviously likes brains!

I hope your cat is wormed, they can catch gross ones from mice!

The head isn't much. Bringing you the body, even, is a real compliment. Your cat is trying to earn his keep, and any part of the mouse they bring you is a sign of respect--and his or her part of being in the family!

My cat brought me a dead bird once lol. Bu that's supposed to be a sign of love and respect. Maybe your cat really is a wild stray and is used to a diet of mice heads....?
