There isn't really much you can do about your neighbor's dogs since they were in heir own yard. Take this as a "wake up call" that it is time to stop your kitty's free-roam. You can either tur your kitty into a completely indoor cat or restrict her access to the outdoors if you still want her to enjoy fresh air and grass. Buy or build an outdoor enclosure for her. You can get ideas from various sites on the internet. I myself just bought a huge chainlink keenel with a door and a top, made it cat-poof, enriched it with logs and wooden runs, and plastic plants... presto! my cats can enjoy the outdoors in complete safety.

I agree that you ought to thank that kind man who came to your cat's rescue. Its really up to you how you express your thanks. Since I like to cook, if it were me, I'd bake him a pie and bring it over with a "Thank You" card from my cat.

You can't do much about the dogs unless there is proof and your word isn't good enough, there's also no proof they're pittbulls, even if they look like it. Report it to your council though so they have it on record. Without an independent eyewitness, they probably won't do anything and if your cat was in the neighbour's when the dogs attacked amd your kitty was rescued, unfortunately the law is on their side.

The only thing you can do is to protect yourself, secure your yard, put on fence capping to keep your cat in or build an enclosure that will keep them safe.

Perhaps a nice little basket with some miniature jams and biscuits and tea would be a nice way to thank him.

Yikes. I don't know what you can do if they're properly restrained (chained, fenced, etc). But you should make sure you have a talk with your son about staying away! And keep the kitty inside until the meaniehead dogs are gone!

As far as saying thank you, a simple note would be nice. Maybe flowers! (Yes, guys can get flowers, too.)

Best suggestion I can give is one of prevention; keep your cat indoors. Cats that live indoors tend to live MUCH longer, happier lives than those that go outside. THis is because of other animals, like those neighbor dogs, diseases, and people (cars, mainly). Do your kitty a favor and keep him inside.

I would put that trespassing cat down. It is a criminal and should be destroyed. You should be put in jail for the way you acted towrads the dog owner. Your cussing and screaming is unruly behavior at the least.
