Why and how does a cat become diabetic?
After giving my cat his annual booster with Feligen RCP booster he became ill. Started vomiting and stopped eating and just drinking water.... I know that is a sign. However, vet says his kidneys are now packing up. He sleeps all day and is very weak. Vet said I should consider putting him to sleep. How do I know if he is suffering? He is my baby and my heart is breaking. He is 13 years old. Vet also said if he was human he would be on a dyalasis machine. Thank you for your help everyone.

My Cat Summer has been crying for the past three days. Ive feed her and gave her more food. Ive also gave her treats and more attention. She is about 5 to 6 months old.

At first we thouht she needed more attention and that doesent work so I Tried calming her and she seems not to sit still. She just walks around Crying really loud!! But she eats well and drinks pleanty of water. So I read up on cats that cry alot and somesay she could be in heat. If this is true, what can I do to make her stop crying?

I have a friend who swears he never wants another girlfriend and is happy be himself- do you think that is really true? Or are people who say this in denial about their relationship history or some other issue?

He's 6mths old and just been neutered. I've seen him wipe his bum on our carpet once prior to neutering, and once after. This morning I picked him up a while after he'd done it and discovered he had poo caught in the fuff around his bum- he is so fluffy, and so I think that must have been what he was trying to dislodge. Sorry to be a little graphic, but how can we help him with this, do long haired cats usually have this problem? Should we get his hair trimmed around his bum? Please advise!

Ok Ok, before anyone says anything i have 3 litter boxes for my two 8mo. old neutered male cats and i clean all of the boxes out once a day after work and replace the litter every two weeks......so why they are peeing in the corners is NOT because i neglect their boxes or of dirty litter conditions. I just curious if it's a personal thing or something more scientific.....OR if anyone else has cats that do the same thing.

Frankly they tear up the bottom liners in one day so i gave up on putting liners in the litter boxes anymore and when i scoop every night it's a pain to scrape semi-dry urine from the corners.

Any intelligent solutions i'd greatly appreciate it!

My vet prescribed Clavamox an antibiodic for my cat. It is a liquid with a dropper. She refuses to take it, and has scratched me all up. I live alone, so I have no one to help me.

So why not trick her in to thinking its a treat. By taking a little piece of bread the size of my little fingers nail and putting the one dose of medicine on it and mixing it with a 1/4 teaspoon canned cat food till its all mixed up good and giving it to her.

My cat is 5 years old and he had this really bad habit that makes me crazy!!! He doesn't drink water from a bowl! He'd rather have you turn the tub faucet on so he can drink from it. He wakes me up in the middle of my sleep just to get some water. And if I do put water in a bowl for him he knocks it over!! Like he's too good to drink water from a bowl. How can I break this habit?? I'll try ALMOST anything.

My cat has a lot of trouble with hairballs. She is a short coat mix, but her fur is very thick. She often throws up - mostly clear fluid (I'm assuming stomach juices) and a mat of hair. But sometimes she also throws up right after she eats - and again there will be hair in the mixture. I have put her on hairball control food and tried giving her various over the counter hairball control cat treats. Nothng seems to help. Do you know of a better product? Or is there a prscription drug my vet can prescibe?

oh, and I do brush her almost daily.

I have a Dr. Jackal and Mr. Hyde cat. 98% of the time he is calm, mellow, and the best darn cat there is. The other 2% of the time, something seems to spook him, he gets all skittish, and races all over my apartment, leaps on top of the couch or counter, knocks things over, and just looks like he’s out of his mind. What do I do to get him to mellow out? I give him toys, love, affection, nothing seems to work. He’s about 2 and a half years old, neutered, and declawed (I didn’t do it to him, but thank god he is) he’s an only cat. He also still has a bad habit of chewing paper. Anything I can do about that?

how often do cats have kittens and how long after she have a litter

2007-01-12 14:58:26 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous

I have a 8 months old cat and she had never peed outside her litter box before. Today I realized that she has peed on the towel that we keep at the bottom of the tub. ( We keep it there because when there is water left she gets in and gets all wet.) Is it possible that the fact that she is having her first heat symptoms made her so upset that she peed in the tub ?

I really hope that she does not start to pee all over the house and I wonder if I should do something. (We already clean her box twice a day.)

Could the heat be also responsible for her extreme shedding ?

Thank you !!!

How do you tell if its a Manx breed? I have 2 kittens, the mother was just a regular domestic cat and I dont know about the father. The kittens have bigger hips and hops like rabbit.
