Why and how does a cat become diabetic?
After giving my cat his annual booster with Feligen RCP booster he became ill. Started vomiting and stopped eating and just drinking water.... I know that is a sign. However, vet says his kidneys are now packing up. He sleeps all day and is very weak. Vet said I should consider putting him to sleep. How do I know if he is suffering? He is my baby and my heart is breaking. He is 13 years old. Vet also said if he was human he would be on a dyalasis machine. Thank you for your help everyone.

So sorry to hear about your precious cat - I am a cat lover myself and have cats.

Sounds like your vet is saying that these are signs of kidney failure rather than diabetes. Read this: http://www.fabcats.org/crf.html

Would you consider seeking a second opinion from another vet. My prayers are with you and your cat.

Must believe others. Cats and puppies alike can have diabetes. Yes, it may be a pink flag for kitty. Best strategy to find out if there's a situation is have your friend make an appointment with the vet. Diabetes and be controlled with correct Mds. Of direction if would be any quantity of alternative issues. Time for a discuss with to the vet.

"How do I know if he is suffering? He is my baby and my heart is breaking. He is 13 years old. Vet also said if he was human he would be on a dyalasis machine"
Those statements right there indicate what you should do. The first one is a bit selfish when added to the second. (and we can all be selfish when it comes to those we love)
If he is your baby, and you do love him, think about how much KINDER it is to have him euthanized than it is to let him live through the slow poisoning that is killing him. You wouldn't want someone to keep you around if you were miserable and in pain, and slowly dying anyway would you? (you do not mention breed so I will have to go general here, but 10+ years is amazing for a cat. Not too many live longer than 10 years, you were blessed in a big way!)
It's a tough choice, and only you can make it, but I CAN tell you a vet would never recommend euthanasia to make their (the vets) lives better.. They are the animals advocate.

I'm sorry about your buddy, I know how it feels. I went through this with my companion/assistance dog 3 years ago (he was 17!). I still mourn him, but I am STILL glad I loved him enough to let him go when it was too painful for him to stay.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/AFrTN

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

I think your cat has renal failure not diabetes and given lots of TLC from you and the right veterinary advice and feeding your cat a diet made specially for CRF cats he could and probably will have some time with you. I recently lost my cat Korky at the age of 18 and a half with CRF, euthanasia was always on my mind but the love I had for him and the vet care, diet etc gave him an extra 2 years, he died peacefully in my arms. I got lots of advice from http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Feline-CRF-Support whatever you need to know someone will have an answer.
Give your cat a big hug from me and I will offer a prayer for him.
