This is one of the only TRUE vet emergencies! He sounds like he has a urinary tract obstruction and if he is not treated NOW he will very likely not survive. I hate to be harsh, but that is the sad truth. Your little fella is going into kidney failure right this minute and he needs IV fluids, a urinary catheter, and supportive care. I usually quote about $1000 for the total treatment, and I have about 50% of blocked cats that eventually go home.
I'm SO serious, please help your kitty NOW!
Best of luck to you, I do not envy your position right now.

Hellloooo...TAKE IT TO THE VET!!! Either a kidney stone, urinary failure or some sort of blockage. Do you leave out a pan of water for it every day to drink? If so, then it should be peeing. I used to have a male cat that was fixed that was born with a urethral opening that was too small and the vet had to enlarge the opening with an operation (what the vet called a "sex change" operation.)...Not kidding...

Take him to a Vet NOW. Look in the phone book and find an emergency Vet. This is serious. Some Male cats are prone to getting crystals in their urine which blocks the urethra, and can eventually explode, causing the cat to bleed to death internally.
Get off the computer and GO!

Take him to the vet straight away!!
One of my cats was having similar problems recently, but he was managing to pass tiny bits of urine. The vets told me that if he stopped going completely he could hav crystals and then would only have 24 hours or so and would need emergancy surgery, very worrying!

THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!!!
Your cat has hours or less to live unless you get to a vet RIGHT NOW!!!
Male cats get blockages in their urinary tracts. He needs to be unblocked. Count on a hospital stay. He will be in overnight and need antibiotics.
Usually around 400-600 dollars worth of intensive care.
Please, if you can't afford it, have him put to sleep. Spare him an awful death.

You need to hurry and take him to a vet. The same thing happened to mine last year. I telephoned my vet to ask him about it and he told me to bring him in immediately. He wouldn't even talk to me when I got there because he wanted to operate right away. I remember him saying "this guy can't wait".
I'm sorry I can't remember what it is called but what has happened is your cat has developed some crystals in its urine (usually due to a lot of ash in food) and he isn't able to pass them. They have accumulated in his penis and blocking his urine. He can go into septic shock and die very quickly.
My vet told me that my cat would not have lived through the night if I hadn't brought him in right away. Apparently it is very dangerous and very fast.
Good luck. I hope he is o.k. but please don't wait. Have him looked at immediately.

Hi there...your cat may have a lower urinary disorder that has a urethral obstruction and this requires URGENT medical attention as cats can die within 24-48 hours if not treated.

sounds like kidney failure to me some times in the winter cats can get a hold of anti freeze which in turn shuts down the kidneys the newer antifreezes on the market do not have the same ingredients as the old antifreeze but there may still be some folks that still have some old antifreeze lets hope this is not the case, in either case, if you can he still needs to see a vet if you can take him.
